Table Top Gaming

A new gaming store opened near me so I went in to take a look. It's dedicated to games that require people to 'sit at the table' and play. The walls and racks have all variations of board games and card games, lots of different role playing style games. They even have tables in the store where you can sit and 'test drive' games to see how they're played and so on.


I know many of us on here grew up in the age before internet gaming and console video games. I'm curious how many here still have those family game nights at the table, or get together with friends occasionally and play table top games. Or is it all just an online world nowadays?

I definitely came before all that, but I don't do either of it anymore. Not that I'm not a fan of it, but I pretty much dedicate most of my free time music in one way, or another. If I'm not learning something new, I'm working on something new, or I'm studying something different, or I'm listening to something new, or playing out somewhere, and if I'm not doing that I'm on here, or watching a movie. LoL.

 

Proud to say I was FOCCPAC* Table Tennis (Ping Pong) Champion 2 years running.

A huge underground facility in Hawaii pretty much shutting down while I was there. Heavy use during WW2. I pretty much had nothing to do all day and we had great rec rooms. Spent my days under a Pineapple field playing Pong and my evenings with Maui Wowie and more Pong as we had tables at the barracks too. Had 2 years of this tough life

 

Has Nutting has been paying back the bad karma all these years?

 

Naked Twister was nice idea but ended up a bit disgusting.

Ping Pong

 

In our basement was a very ornate ping pong table made of good wood with carved legs etc

My mom wore army boots and came back from England on a troop ship

As part of the entertainment they had brought on professional ping pong players and they said with a laugh if anyone beat them they could keep the table

Mom trained for the Olympic ping pong team

 

Hopefully with females

 

I always liked playing the tabletop hockey game
Foosball
Electric football
We would put salt on field for the snow effect
Put a fan on for wind conditions
Lost a lot of the little footballs due to blustery conditions

 

Adding
Played a baseball game that had every team cards
You rolled dice and looked at offensive plays
Can’t remember the name of game
We would play whole seasons

 

I got drunk last night
