Not cut them now they will not be on opening day roster..All 3 of these guys are bad at what there new HC wants plus we drafted guys with the traits the HC likes..It would probably be better for these players if they were cut or traded now to give them a chance to make a Team..

Why should we care about that? The Steelers should not be in the business of helping other teams or giving up assets for free. I don't think they would get much for any of them, but one of them could still make the team, or maybe bring back a small return like a seventh-round pick.

Maybe Rodgers doesn't return, so Rudolph is their only real veteran. Maybe Allar isn't fully healthy and misses all or part of the season. Maybe Heidenreich ends up playing primarily at receiver, so the Steelers still need a third back? Maybe one of their lead backs gets hurt in training camp.

Yes something bad could happen but if it doesn't I give them no chance to make the Team...I would be trying to trade them .

Trading them is fine, though I don't think they will bring back much value. My issue is with this idea of letting them go so they can catch on somewhere else. No. don't that.

    I'd be OK trading both.

    No rush though.

Try to capitalize on guys getting hurt on other teams (while keeping insurance on our team against injuries).

My guess is that we hold on to Mason as long as we can. Unless he makes a fuss (which he hasn't been prone to doing in the past).

You do have to feel sorry for Mason. Always the forgotten man.

    Winner this.
Too much up in the air to worry about getting rid of guys. Just let the process work, play out, and then see. Too many things can, and will happen before the 1st game of the season, and f**k helping other teams

I guess that's just the old Coach in me wanting players to have a chance to continue playing esp. young guys who just don't fit the new Coach... I hope we can get something for them ..

Its not the other Teams I was thinking of it's the players and their Families ...It's clear as day that MM doesn't like Mason so if all our QB'S got hurt he would still go out and get another QB to start instead of Mason..If this is true then do the man a Favor and trade him ...I know they are trying..lol

May have to get a Team to stock the drink machine for training camp..

Eh. Not sure I can feel too sorry for him. He's had plenty of chances to shine and has been a bit lackluster. Nothing to really show "this guy has something special". He's a career backup and making decent money doing it. He's got a net worth that most of the general public wouldn't see in multiple lifetimes. And he's only 30.

I’m not suggesting it but Howard might be a PS candidate

He was a 6th and basically missed a year and has never taken an NFL snap

It’s not like any team is going to put him on their 53

Although I guess he could elect to go to someone else’s PS (I think)

You can't trade what nobody wants, see 2 years ago when MR left to go to Titans.

I believe You don't do anything till You have to. I remember a year when we had an abundance of ILBs , and traded a couple, and then a few got hurt, and by the 6 game of the season we had no good ILB to play. Only one Qb on this team has played in a NFL game until Rodgers is actually out there playing, I'm not getting rid of any Qb. Hell I'm not getting rid of anyone until I have to

Agreed, but he is a experienced backup, and until I know who else can actually be a backup option He stays.

MY thought is to trade Mason, and then bring in Cooper Rush to help Will and Drew learn the Mike McCarthy system.

When the season starts your could slide Cooper Rush onto the practice squad and keep both your young QBs on the roster protected. Cooper Rush could then continue to teach Will and Drew the playbook during the year, allowing Aaron Rodgers to focus more on that weeks team, rather than having to help out with the youngsters.

I agree , but Cooper would be better than Mason .. IMO MM will not start Mason unless all our QB'S get hurt the day before the game..Mason is a 1 play at the LOS guy and he has problems even getting it blocked up right..MM wants a QB who can run his Offense from a no huddle and be great at seeing what the Defense is doing on the fly..MM has never said 1 thing he likes about Mason or even 1 thing he could work on heck if we lost all QB'S the day before the game MM would probably go Wildcat instead of Mason...

I'm all for respecting the players and giving them every opportunity to catch on, but not at the expense of the 2026 Steelers.

Rudolph is a QB, and every year QBs go down in camp. I'm not risking being caught throwing someone who's never taken a snap in the NFL in at starter so that Mason can get a head start in moving on - or take a 7th rounder to move him.

As for the other two, both were recent third rounders. Maybe there's a role for each and maybe there's not, but if there might be then let them compete rather than just letting them walk away for free - assuming they are not considered locker-room cancers. And if they are toxic, or can't beat out late rounders, then they are probably looking at PS roles wherever they go.

Its mainly if what I feel is correct ? With the regime change some guys are just going to be bad fits ..Bad fits will just make the process harder and take snaps from real future players. If the head Coach not like them why waste a lot of time ?

For me Drew Allar is the strong arm QB, I have been chasing for years in Free Agency.

Let Rodgers return and then you can set Drew Allar up to takeover next year.
