Did A-Rod get what he deserved?

Do you think A-Rod got what he deserved by being suspended for a whole season or do you think he should get more? I think a lifetime ban would be pretty harsh but it still seems like a season isn't harsh enough. He will probably appeal for so long that he gets to play anyway and then just retire at the end of it. I'm sure in the court of public opinion he's done anyway. What say you guys?

Witch hunt. Why just A-Rod? How come the 12 other players linked to this got 50 games? How come A-Rods name was the only name leaked from the last report? I get that it's really easy to dislike this guy but he definitely gets singled out.

And it's more then a season Blount, it's 212 games I think. Even if he appeals it, he'll still miss 212 games if he loses the appeal.

As a Yankee fan, I don't much care from a production standpoint, he doesn't bring much to the table anymore but definitely better then what they have been rolling out there to play 3rd base.

It's hardly a witch hunt since this is the second go around he's had.

Totally a witch hunt, they are trying to make an example of this guy, he's always singled out, there was a list prior to the whole biogenisis scandal with a name of 100+ players on it, his is the only name leaked. And as far as I know, there are no rules on the books that state if caught a second time your punishment will be x amount of games. Everyone else is getting 50 games, he gets 212. And Braun by all accounts was caught twice, a technicality got him off the first time and he gets 50 games.

I also believe there is collusion between the Yankees and MLB, the Yankees want out from under his contract.

For the record, I think he should be suspended, just keep it on a level playing field.

Actually there is, 50-100-life. Now why they jumped from 100 to 212 is anyone's guess. Are the Yankmees and Selig in Collusion? I doubt it, but I'm not much of conspiracy theorist either.

Neither am I but we aren't talking space aliens here, baseball and collusion are synonyms, sport has a history of it. Furthermore, baseball is the only sport with enough power to get away with it, something about the anti trust agreement, something like that, they were talking about it on SAS show yesterday.

Barry Bonds is a perfect example of baseball collusion, the guy was still a beast and didn't land a job after San Fran. Going to tell me that guy couldn't have helped a ball club? Keep in mind, nothing was ever proven of steroids with Bonds.

I don't follow baseball nearly as much as I used to. Did A-rod know what he was doing was wrong? I believe he did. Did he get caught before? Again, I believe he did.
Now, that being said, I think it is a bit of a witch hunt. He's a big named player so they wanted to make an example out of him. That and his supposed obstruction charges are why I think he has such a more severe suspension than anyone else.
I have to say, even if I was guilty of this and I was A-rod, I'd probably fight it too. This suspension has the potential to take away about 34 million of his money away.

As for the whole steroids thing in general, I'm conflicted. Part of me says that if these guys want to do it, let them. Just keep two sets of stats. The stats for those that juice and those that don't. Test every single player, none of this random crap. I'm sure there's reason not to let those guys juice, like not being a role model and stuff, but the way half of these athletes act they weren't role models to begin with.

As for baseball itself, I'm still pissed at them. Everything they do is hypocritical to me. They let guys who are known cheaters stick around, yet Pete Rose was banned for betting on his own team to win.

For crying out loud Bonds admitted(finally) to taking steroids. I don't know how old you are, but as you age you naturally lose athletic ability. Still a beast? Hardly. Bonds was 40+ years old, without steroids he was a shell of the player he was prior to steroid use. Look at his numbers after the **** hit the fan, they decreased significantly. He went from hitting 70+ hr's down to 20+. Not to mention the media circus that would follow any team that might have signed him(think tebow mania x 10). Which team is going to pay a 43 year old steroid riddled $20,000,000 to hit 20 hr's a year? If Bonds would have stayed off the PED's he probably would have been a first ballot HOFer, but he consciously made a choice and will forever pay the price. #crymeariver

Bonds admitted to taking the cream, he never admitted to taking steroids knowingly. His last season he hit 28 HR's had an OBP of 480 with a slg pct of 565 and 132 walks. You really going to tell me a team coulnd't use that production? Avoid NY, CA and Boston and there's no media circus.

Oh that's right, he admitted taking steroids, but he didn't know they were steroids until afterwards because his trainers convinced him it was flaxseed oil and arthritis cream. His head just spontaneously grew 5/8" and his feet miraculously went from size 10 1/2 to 13 at 39 years old.

:lolol: I totally agree he was on steroids and more then just the cream, you don't get better at 40. I also detest Bonds and don't recognize him as the HR king but the guy was a phenomenal talent, even on steroids, he took it to a level no one else approached.

I don't know if this is true but I've heard in the NFL that when it is published that you failed a drug test it is because it is the second test you've failed. Does it work that way in baseball too?

Did anyone see A-ROD get PEGGED TWICE??? I've gotta say that drama in baseball is really fun to watch but dang that was almost vigilantism! He then hit a homer off the guy! Regardless that's fun to watch!

Treat all cheaters the same. If one gets a 211 game suspension, all of them should get 211 game suspensions.

I say treat all cheaters the same and if they get caught once they are done. Period. That would end this stuff. Also they need to start putting clauses in contracts that are absolutely irreversible that say if you get caught cheating you void the rest of your contract from that point on and you pay a MASSIVE fine to the organization that you let down. That would end this crap once and for all. This pansy stuff of tying up things in court needs to end.
