So a bigger and faster version of the dude everyone was freaking out about yesterday.

It’s almost like WRs are plentiful.

Per Adam Schefter, the Steelers traded picks 53, 135, and 237 to the Colts in order to move up to select the Crimson Tide wideout.

He was my second favorite wr in the draft, behind Tate. I think his floor is really high. He has everything you need, almost 6'2, 206 lbs, 4.48 forty, and had the best 3 cone at the combine, really good after the catch.

Good value for Allen there. Never bought him as a 1st rounder. Just not explosive enough. Good pick.

He probably would have been there at 53, but I guess they didn't want to take the chance.

Pre-draft this was the WR that Dave Bryan at the Depot wanted (read what he said in his mock draft with Bernard in the 2nd).

Apparently he dominated NCAA WRs in receptions of 15 (or maybe 20) AY (or maybe it was just explosive receptions?).

We desperately need guys to generate explosive plays on offense.

Hopefully Bernard can give that to us.

Edited to add: Apparently has some experience (not a ton) returning both Kicks and Punts. We need both IMO.

Would you rather have Hines Ward or George Pickens. Lemon is more George Pickens and Germie is more Hines. His blocking is good and rarely drops catches.

He can run the entire route tree and has reliable hands.
I'll take that Hines Ward type, any day of the week, over Lemon.
Thank God we didn't get Lemon an AB/Pickens reincarnate in the making.
    Thank you Eagles!

ESPN profile (really from Scouts Inc?) has the words I love to hear: He sounds like a good route runner. The lack of speed part is not great IMO...but apparently 4.48 40 at the combine, so not slow. But I like when we draft WRs who are known as good route runners. Maybe Rodgers will throw to him (assuming he plays).

Bernard led the Crimson Tide in receptions in each of the past two seasons, lining up in the slot and out wide. He displays the proficiency to attack zone looks and can create separation at the top of his routes against man coverage. Bernard makes up for his lack of speed with smooth agility, attacking defenders' leverage and by running precise routes. He is efficient getting in and out of his cuts. Bernard has reliable hands and the size to compete for 50-50 balls, even though he has shorter arms. He's an instinctive runner who can find green grass after the catch. Overall, he was a very productive player who consistently made timely plays during his career. -- Scouts Inc.

With Bernard we're looking for consistency, strength, reliability, athleticism, fluid route running...

top end speed is for other players,he doesn't need to have top end speed because we didn't draft Bernard for that

Funny thing is he is still a sub 4.5 runner
