So lost for words with our 1st round pick...I really wanted Cooper and he was still there.

My hope for today is they trade up in the 2nd (I doubt they trade any players) and take Boston who they seem high on. I would also love Rodriguez.

This is what happens when you think a team is a contender and it gets blown out of the playoffs in the WC every year, and you still think it's a contender and you do this over and over and over again, because you have no clue about what's required to win a SB and don't want to to put the work in, or take some lumps as an organisation to do so.

7-8 years of organisational and ownership delusion coming home to roost.

Khan should be fired he has absolutely butchered WR over the last few years.

    I found Omar's big board:

Jermod McCoy not going in Round 1 should capture just how much NFL Front Offices, executives, scouts and coaches overthink themselves; doubly so ones with their guy set at QB.

I mean... Safety position doesnt have a fullproof future plan either. Morever to the point, beyond Cam Heyward and Derrick Harmon, who else is on the IDL?! The issue isnt Max by himself. The issue is, as you said, not utilizing the board properly.

What pisses me off is that both Khan and McCarthy said that Max was an ascedning player whos best football was ahead of him. The same can be said of Monroe Freeling. Regardless of how the Broderick Jones situation played out, that shouldnt deter the team from trying again; doubly so with a player who poessess legitmate All Pro Potential.

Max is an inspector gadget level reach.

I am Z, just skip the pick. Make the draft very memorable.

I still hope they trade Queen and improve at MLB, his serviceable, but not impactful in any positive way...and the missed tackles.

    Also hoping they trade Highsmith.

Both for Rd 2/3 picks, even if in 2027.

Would like to see them get some BPA in round 2 and 3 and move around to get "their guy", especially one that unexpected slips down 10 or 15 spots and nears a lower pick just after they considered taking him with the earlier pick.

    Khan....
The Bad news is we had a 2nd round grade on Max, and we took him in the 1st round.
The Good News is we had a 1st round grade on Denzel Boston and we took him in the 2nd.

My self, I don't like Boston, so I am hoping Khan wipes the crap off his face from last night and goes big in the 2nd round by using his 3rd round picks to move way up and takes safety Emmanuel McNeil-Warren Toledo.

this round as i have said quite a few times on here is where they may move. cheaper to do it in the second than in the first. here is where our draft capital should pay off. there is a lot of talent left to draft.

He doesn't run the full route tree we don't need a gadget player.

If you take a safety in the second round, then you have to wait until the third round to address WR.

I was just watching Jacob Rodriguez highlights.

Damn, nice player. Great instincts....giving me some Luke Keuchly vibes.

I've seen Boston going as early as pick 3 or 4 of the 2nd, not sure we jump that high. Looking at a couple other projections, I've seen us grabbing Clemson Antonio Williams WR in either 2nd or 3rd. Haven't seen him play and really have no opinion about him.... but I could see going for a WR in the 2nd or 3rd since we got snipped in the 1st.

    Watching some WR's...

I like Chris Brazzell, Dezhaun Sribling, and Malachai Fields.

Germie Bernard seems not very fast/shifty. I'm sure he has NFL speed, but I wonder if he will struggle to get open.

The deep receiver class of 2024 netted the Steelers Roman Wilson. It may not be as deep as the Steelers think. Plus Khan has failed to secure a #2 WR in consecutive years. Why trust him to secure a slot WR this year?

I can't refute that statement given the recent receiver track record. It is possible that pool gets shallow. They really need to use some of that draft capital to move up in the second...if only they had gotten some more last night to help in that effort.

Since I'm not convinced this year will be a good year record wise, I wouldn't mind them trading both Queen and Highsmith along with a couple low rounders if needed for more second round pics. Lose their salaries and get younger. 3 2's would be awesome, Rodriguez, Bernard, McDonald. I know you need trade partners, but something like this should not be impossible. Heck, I'd be happy with Max, 3-2's and 3-3's for our whole draft. I'd much rather have that than 12 picks over 7 rounds.

It's also possible that there is a shift in position focus with the new coaching staff. With Smith as OC he wanted to run more multiple TE sets. If McCarthy wants to run 3 WR sets then it's more important to get one.

I'm good with moving Queen and Highsmith but nobody is giving the Steelers a 2nd Rounder for them. Maybe Queen or High + a lower pick gets a 2nd. That would work.

Yes well since you say so:rolleyes:. What do you know about him? seriously. enlighten us all.

where do you get this crap you spew? from the slot he wouldn't have to but he can. georgia used him in a condensed role for the most part because he was very effective doing it. they also used him in every way from time to time again because he could. i know he may not be everyone's cup of tea but he's far from a gadget player. you don't catch 81 balls in the SEC in a year as a gadget.
