Need to plan as if we've moved on I really wanted to have tackle sorted with him and Fautanu, but that's not going to happen.

    I don't grade his draft but mid-pak.
He has yet to hit on a threat and the majority of his picks are blue collar rather than blue chip.
And he failed to solve WR 2 years in the running and QB has been a whiff.
Still, I'd say mid-pak is a good grade.

He's got 12 picks to turn the frown upside down. He won't use 12 to bring in 12 players.
He has to hit on a blue-chip player, maybe 2.
Lot of talk about the Safeties going on.... that maybe the place to hit one out of the park.
He can also grab a solid OT and WR to beef things up.

I can see McCarthy keeping Howard unless he really sucks but I think Mason's on a thread.. I think the only way he's a Steeler come opening day is if they pass entirely on a QB in this draft.
The Aaron situation complicates matters more. I mean, a 43-year-old QB is only doing so much at best.
I can't see McCarthy sitting still and letting Omar not pick one of the 2nd tier QBs.
I can't honestly grade this draft on QB, they don't have a lot of options... but to not at least take a shot just seems, I don't know, part of the evil axis, I guess.

Just get me a couple guys that cause problems for other teams... I'll take that as a win.

Khan is doing an incredible job if his goal is to finish slightly above .500 every year.

He's ahead of schedule. Good to see that the standard is still the standard.

Not saying that I think they are going to start wiping out other teams, but strengthening the foundation is necessary until all the pieces fall into place (a few lucky bounces in key games, players healthier than normal, QB hits a hot streak, etc.)

    Seattle 2022: 9-8 , lost WC game
Seattle 2023: 9-8 , did not make playoffs
Seattle 2024: 10-7 , did not make playoffs

I'm guessing at the start of last season, the Seahawk fans were complaining about their GM just getting the team slightly above .500 and not winning any playoff games. And probably after day 1 of the 2025 draft, that they selected an OT at 18.
(Followed by safety, TE, and QB on day 2. Two WRs on day 3. Could easily be mirrored by the Steelers this year.)

The team doesn’t have any impact players anymore. TJ Watt is winding down. No game changing safeties, no solid linebackers that make you think twice running their way. Recievers are middle tier. DK Metcalf is a 2 receiver who plays at 3 half the year who’s listed at a 1.

Aaron Rodgers is past his prime. Just a boring team with no personality and even if Max pans out, who’s the QB? Who’s the running back? Every position just seems middle to good here and there. Only position that is elite is the kicker. That’s it.

Steeler are making fools of themselves, comfort blanket HC hire for yesterdays HC, strung along by a 42 year old darknees retreat QB, and now Omar Clown making a complete tit of himself in RD1 of the NFL draft held in Pittsburgh.

Do these dudes know that there are 11 more picks over 6 rounds to be made yet?

I am gonna take a gamble here. I think there are other draft eligible WRs still in the prospect pool.

I see the whiners who said we needed a tackle are whining because we drafted a tackle

I am not one of those...I wanted a wide receiver before the draft last night.3 tackles in 4 years is not much different that when Matt Millen had decided to draft 4 wide receiver in 5 years in the 2000s with the lions

Love with what we’re doing with the OL. Went from divas like Moore who can’t/refuse to switch side, Green who was softer than the Pillsbury dough boy and Okorafor who voluntarily left the Pats after one game to a group of in the mud road graders

I think our business model is generally too focused on "competing this season" at the expense of the medium term.

This made sense when we had Ben. But we haven't had Ben for a while.

IMO, this is a decision that comes from the owner. Not the GM or HC. Those guys are doing what they can to respond to the incentives they are given (don't play meaningless regular season games).
