What, who got the player they wanted???

Both Lemon and the Eagles have confirmed that Khan was on the phone with Lemon telling him he was going to be the Steelers pick at 21, when the Eagles made the trade with Dallas to move up.

I am pretty sure the player the Steelers wanted was MAKAI LEMON!!!

Reaching in the 1st round - this always goes well.

What were Steelers doing sitting round and waiting with a ton of picks?

So we sat still and got a 2nd round project tackle with age questions hanging over him, and were going tio be playing musical chairs again at tackle.

Eagles made Khan look a complete fool, on the phone with Lemon while Philly was still on the clock.

    Khan is hugely overrated

Thats utterly embarrassing for khan if that actually happened. You can’t take anything for granted until you’re on the clock.

I don’t know anything about Iheanachor but everything I’m reading screams project so we are likely looking at Fautanu at RT and Cook at LT on day 1 with Iheanachor as the swing tackle / extra lineman.

I am happy enough with the pick. It seems he has the potential to be a long term starter. Hopefully it works out.

Playing the same position on the left side is nothing like playing a completely different position. Tons of guys do it. Shoot, going from guard to center is nothing particularly hard either, but there’s at least the snapping aspect of it to make it different enough. Kendrick Green wasn’t a bad center because of a position change (he’s bad at guard too).

I doubt they’ve already made their mind up about Ihenachor playing left tackle. I’m sure he will get a shot to play there, though (and I’m sure he will want the chance to do it). Both him and Fautanu will get reps there and whoever is better will get to stick. If he can’t play there, we already have a tackle who can play both, so no big deal.

Iheanachor has longer arms than Mauigoa, Fano, and Proctor, all selected before him.

He was a left tackle in collage. He will be just fine on the left side and bring stability there if in so they move him there.

Making him a guard would be mindless.

I think that’s what has me upset. Listen nobody on this board knows how this kid will turn out but you certainly didn’t need to take him at 21. Just like Pickett nobody else was taking him around that spot.

Khan got out hustled by Roseman, one the best GM's in the game. I don't get standing pat and not trading out of the spot.

That was not a good look for Khan last night.

With 12 picks, they could trade up easily to be sure to have the player they want, but the steelers way was good in the past,so they continue to live from the past

we will see we needed an off. lineman and they took one they believe in.As for picks .just save them and use them all..Friday we should see some <sexy> picks as some call it --ie: WR --possibly--QB ..But we will complain no matter who they pick so it doesn't matter--I will stay with RENEGADE it was so cool listening to it and watching it on TV the cool lights ---OH MAMA....Seeing Terry and BEN there was great to.

Reports are they tried to trade with Tampa which makes sense because the Jets were next and were likely to take Lemon there but surprised people by taking Sadiq.

Looks like Howie pulled Khans pants down and spanked him, hes one of the best GMs in the league for a reason but in Khans defense, Dallas are complete morons. They trade with their division rivals and allow them to fix their WR room knowing AJ was on the way out. F—k Dallas, freaking aholes.

They could've traded down acquired some picks and still drafted Max, and then deal some day2/3 picks for 2027 picks.

Who cares about making the crowd happy most of them wanted a WR in the first round anyway.

That is what I'm thinking might happen, but man, that still leaves a problem at left tackle.

34 inch arm. plus just because broderick jones busted means nothing. we also drafted a LT the year after jones in the first round. remember a guy named fautanu. he's still here. he can still play LT too. plus our guy that stepped in and played LT to end the season and did very well doing it. this kid is big, strong, can move very well and played big time college football, just like any other draft pick. good coaching will just help it continue.

Imagine being Dallas and helping out your biggest rival the Eagles, that would be the Ravens calling the Steelers looking to trade up hang up the phone on them.
