I highly respect your own original thought no matter how wrong it is :smiley1:

Cook had one good game two mediocre one bad

There is a reason he was 4th string

Fake reporting. Cook played well for three games and so-so in the other. He did so vs very good competition, depeste being thought of incorrectly as " 4th string " by Tomlin and his OL coach. You words.

The change to promote Cook was not due to coaching acumen, it was injuries.

Cool played well in camp when he got the chance to.

Tomlin's dark shades must have obscured his vision. You often give us the generic line that so-and so does not watch the games.

You make me laugh. Clown. The fans were quite aware of Jones getting beat for sacks and drawing flags. And most of us are aware that Cook did not for most of the game he started.

By the way some of us noticed that Cook started FOUR games.

cook played 4 starts and part of another game plus a start in the playoff game. so 5 starts and part of a game. 1 sack. probably wouldn't have been 4th string if it wasn't for the injured year in between his first and third years here. he played pretty well on both sides in every preseason.

It's not. My point is that is what the coaches decided for him. He was a level bottom starter at both at Right and Left Tackle.

IE, according to PFF and anyone with eyes that is.

Even did not play in several games, otherwise he would have added to his negatives amount. He did not even rate with the 64 starting tackles in the NFL!

He was a bust and a player that I highly doubt the Steelers would exercised the option of the 5th year on.

What are your thoughts on the player in the past and best guess for his future?

No, the point is he played his first year out of position and set him back. He didnt get a say in that.

As I said our X coaches decided for him. So you are correct on that point.

He was a level bottom starter at both at Right and Left Tackle.

IE, according to PFF and anyone with eyes that is.

Broderick Jones is an offensive tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers who earned a 57.7 overall PFF grade in the 2025 season, 70th among 89 qualified offensive tackles. He played 632 offensive snaps on the season.
His PFF pass-blocking grade of 59.0 ranked 68th among 89 qualified offensive tackle
    s. His run-blocking grade of 50.6 ranked 80th at the position

He allowed 23 total pressures in pass protection. That total included 6 sacks and 6 hits allowed to opposing pass rushers. He was flagged for 1 penalties over the course of the season amount. He did not even rate with the 64 starting tackles in the NFL!

He was a bust and a player that I highly doubt the Steelers would exercised the option of the 5th year on. That is what I say.

What are your thoughts on the player in the past and best guess for his future?

I agree. The player causing the injury should be suspended until the player he injured returns.

I just take exception with the bust label considering he wasnt put in the best position to succeed. Was asked to learn a new position his first two seasons and then had to relearn again his natural position and then when he started finally improving he injured his neck.

As for his future, if he is ever medically cleared and returns to the field, I believe he will eventually be a good player but will be a tough rd with that injury.

The bottom line is that it is unlikely that the Steelers were going to excercise the 5th year option regardless of a setback. This is what happens when you mismanage player development. They should have been preparing for life after Broderick for after 2026 anyway.
