Harbough still comes back to haunt us with his Giants getting two top ten picks. Their second #10 pick is the perfect spoiler slot to keep Lemon and Vega from falling too far into the teens, which with 12 picks, Khan would be jus Jonesing to do.

Avoid the drama with Fano or possibly Coop?

As much as I want Vega, there are a couple good guards in the draft, I’m sure some good ones will be there in the second round.

We just need to let the cards fall where they may and take the best player available.

…as long as we don’t get stupid and take a QB.

    No he cannot. Why?!

Zone vs Man power scheme as a Guard is irrelevant if said player does not have the requisite core strength, functional strength and most importantly, displace his opposition across from him. Fano's overall build as an Offensive Lineman is weird as all hell anyways; very top heavy, thin waist and sticks for legs. He isn't going to survive as an NFL Guard and he lacks the anchor needed to absorb bull rushes as an NFL OT. This is why NFL Exes and scouts are suggesting that Fano transition to Center as overall strength, anchor and displacement are not as nearly needed as the other two. Fano would have the baseline abilities there.

Where Fano would shine though as a Center is his tremendous overall agility, recovery in pass protection and short area explosiveness. All of that translates him beautifully as a Zone Based Center. Baltimore just lost a Center who had the same shortcomings absent anchor.

Don't be surprised if Fano goes to the Ravens.

Tom Pelissaro on the NFL Network reported this morning that a lot of teams are having second thoughts on drafting Jermod McCoy the CB from Tennessee. He was looking like a sure bet top 10 pick but there are concerns about cartilage healing in the knee that kept him out all of last year. He might need a bone plug replacement that would sideline him for another 3-6 months. He could be available at #21, if so should the Steelers draft someone who has the potential to be an All Pro corner but might have to wait until 2027 for him to be fully healthy. Pelissaro is saying he might fall out of the first round.

with all the picks we have, what do you think about mccoy and bell the wr? do you think they would be worth drafting for late in the season or next year?

I would with McCoy, when healthy he is probably the best CB in the draft. His procedure might set him back 6 months but he has the potential to be a perennial All Pro corner. As far as Chris Bell from Louisville goes it all depends on how far he falls and if we already addressed the WR position earlier in the draft.

Lemon or Vega are great picks if they fall, no argument there. But, if I just go by the eye test for the one that fits, it’s Junior, Cooper. I could see the Raiders finagling their second pick to pair him up with his QB.

My worry, yet one they have to lend serious consideration to is, Fano. I think the Broderick Jones situation IS A SITUATION, and I would down play it too. Particularly in, I dunno, DRAFT WEEK! An O lineman with a neck injury waiting for his 5th year option call at draft time. Doubt Khans got the checkbook out and Jones’ number on speed dial.

Does this force their hand early?

    Fano, wa wa waaa…
