Will Anderson Extension 3-Year $150 Million

Wow. Will Anderson is a great player for the Texans, but good grief, $50 million a year for a pass rusher. Talk about making the salary cap harder to manage. That is QB money.

Definitely not something I want to see on the Steelers, not even if they are the reincarnation of Lawrence Taylor or Mean Joe Green.

 

How can teams afford to pay other players with cap hit like this?

 

It is funny, I am not sure what years this contract is for. The Texans picked up Will Anderson's 5th year option for 2027. Then they sign him to a 3 year extension; does that mean this $150 million contract is for 2028 ,29, and 30.

The Texans are doing something right with their Scouting Staff, as they also picked up Stroud's 2027 fifth-year option April 8.


When was the last time Khan and Company drafted someone good enough that they could exercise a 5th year option; or more importantly, when will be the next time???

 

Anderson is still on his rookie deal, so his new contract won't kick in for a while. And their franchise QB isn't making big money yet also on his rookie deal still.

 

What about the other 50 players that want paid?

 

Last I checked the other 50 players aren't as good as Anderson.
