There is 1 player that I want them to stay far away from at 1.21. That is CJ Allen. It's wild to me that he's even being discussed as a potential first round pick.

He is not an exceptional run stuffing linebacker. He is not the massive physical force in the middle. And he is a below average to poor pass coverage linebacker.

Honestly, he isn't a first 3 round prospect for me. Taking him would be the equivalent of when they took Terrell Edmunds.

Didn't look to good to me in college football playoff against good competition?

Nice to dream about but won't get past BAL who already have OL issues.

also talking a round later. PSU didn't even get there. i agree he looked bad that game. i don't think there is a great deal of difference between them as far as talent. i wouldn't use a first on either. hopefully our new coaching can refine what's there, whether it's a draft pick or who we have.

I'm still on the Cooper train right now... I also like Lemon and Concepcion in a vacuum. All three translate as majority slot players, which is a place where we need help. I really am starting to think about Chris Johnson at corner too. He's an interesting guy and could be an all around player... good in man and a ballhawk in zone. McNeill-Warren is interesting too, as I see him as a Kyle Hamilton type player. He's maybe a little lesser of a prospect, but similar style. Could be great for the defense.

Not sure I love that we're looking at guard, but if we had to pick one of the two we brought in, I probably would lean Ioane. His ceiling as a player is higher I think, even if his lack of speed limits him some in the run game. Fano seems like a good prospect too, but a tweener. Arms might be too short for OT, but maybe not thick enough to be an OG. Really nice athlete though.

Or Reuben Bain given the fact he was being a dumbass. Regardless, Baltimore will be walking away with a pretty damn good player either way imo.

I’m trying to at least watch some video of the 6 potential picks at #21 based on Top 30 visits. This one of Spencer Fano vs. David Bailey is rough. We only have a handful of plays in this video, but even if Fano’s play was relatively clean for the rest of the game, this is ugly pass protection. The word “exposed” comes to mind. Can he play guard in a zone scheme? Maybe, but he sure as hell doesn’t look like an NFL tackle in this video. At least not without some serious coaching, and coaching can’t lengthen someone’s arms.

And then there’s Iaone. This is NFL level guard play all day.

are you watching the same video? good but a lot to work on. they never ask him to move too far for a reason. he hits his initial block on the move usually and loses his block quickly or he's bent to far. that's what i'm seeing. switching off and picking up late blitzers is nonexistant. as i said previously he may be the best in this class which may be debatable but the bar isn't set real high in this class. maybe you are seeing something i'm missing elvis. :smiley1::cool:

When you watch a play by play with every snap, you’re not going to see the perfection that you see in a highlight film. In this case he was playing against a talented, extremely well coached defense. I saw very few clear misses, and a lot of success. On the move I thought he was solid. So solid that they often lined him up outside the tackle and he made a great clearing block on a short TD run late in the game pulling across the formation. He also showed good ability to get to the second level for a guy his size. Note that I said he’s a starting NFL guard. I didn’t say day 1 all pro, and I didn’t say he’s the best in the draft since I haven’t watched a full game against a good defense for any other guard prospect. I suspect he is the best in this year’s draft though. There’s an awful lot to work with there.
