    Worth a watch.

To say Ty comes across well and knows his stuff is understatement. He has the QB IQ, grew up with football, and seems to interview well.

The need at QB is great and we have a coach with a good history of working with them.

Watch the interview. And you will see why.

You guys know I am drafting him. Will I be ready to start in the NFL in week one 2026? I doubt it. By the end of the year, YES.

IMO, a coach's son is worth a year's worth of starting in college. Factor that in draft nicks should.

A coaches son good at the whiteboard is no different than saying the sky is blue. That much should be obvious. The issue with Ty Simpson isn't above the neck.

The issue stems from a lack of size and severe lack of development. It also doesn't help that he needs serious development in terms of working inside the pocket; his time to throw also needing a major overhaul as his lower body mechanics can be hit or miss.

In short?! Anyone selecting Ty Simpson in Round 1 is seriously banking on him based off of his ability to play off structure; a deadly move for his career. He isn't ready regardless.

NFL Players tend to gain weight and muscles from their college days. So add 5 pounds on him. So he's 217-220 Lbs, okay?

Not every coach's son is good at the mental part of the game. Some are morons. Blue sky eh? In Simpson's case he has a high football IQ. I am sure he scored well on the s2 / wonderlic.

If you watch the interview, you will see that Simpson has ideal leadership, skills and QB smarts. Just listening to him reply back on calls and the verbiage he is well beyond most college QB's.

Does he need some mechanical work? Almost every college QB does. But if you buy into the media examples, they say it is a forte of Simpson's game.

This isn't your typical 15 game starter in college in terms of QB readiness. Simpson is way more advanced than that. I say his reads are good as is his extremely low interception rate.

Where do you think he will go in the draft? I say first round.

Nussmeier is an NFL coach’s son and has a better arm on film than Simpson.

Mason Rudolph interviewed very well too. I don't put much weight behind these kinds of interviews. I mean, yeah, it's great when a QB shows he has a brain. But it still doesn't always translate to an NFL winner.

Yeah, haven't seen him hammer a prospect for being dumb and tape looking bad. If he did that, he'd get no more one-on-ones.

So probably key is picking up the QB himself stammering or showing arrogance when presented with possible weakness or mistake. About all that can be gleaned from these videos.

If You can't do well on the white board , You don't belong playing football.
Almost every player is good on the white board. Nobody is changing the D, Nobody is faking who is coming, and who isn't, Nobody is disguising what they are really doing, and nobody is trying to sack the Qb. It's when all that is going on , then how well, and how fast can they process it.

If you know what you're talking about, the white board can say a lot about a QB. No-- not everyone's the same. There are various degrees of excellent, very good, good , average or below average.

Nussmeier is a guy who is injury prone, very light ( 203 LBS ), and has small hands. He is not built to last in the NFL. He is a poor running QB, and too turnover prone.

Plus, you're looking at the formations from above, where everything is easily visible and it's much easier to see the depth of the safeties. I have seen some of these interviews where the coach will say which play they're running and then asking what you would do if this safety does this at the snap. And again, it is still so much simpler than being on the field and trying to get protections set up and watching for motion or who's pressing the line of scrimmage like they're going to blitz.

Like you said, if a quarterback can't do well at the chalkboard, they have a very long way to go and a lot to learn. Maybe too much to even be considered a developmental quarterback.

Todd Marinovich robo QB, had it all and look how that turned out. A smart head and most importantly, playing time, is what matters most. Some guys seem like they'll be good, but the nfl is so much faster and cerebral. I still like Howard. Has the brains, championship drive and all the physical traits.

I'm not saying that Howard is going to be the next Ben or Bradshaw but we still don't know what we have with him. I think he deserves a chance, if Simpson lasts past the 3rd rd then we need to snatch him.

A better arm with double the inconsistency, older and just as injury prone to boot. I am staying as far away from Garrett Nussimeier as humanely possible. Whatever happened to him this season?!?!...

... he sure is far removed from that Top 32 talent I saw a season ago.

Pretty much sums up the highly anticipated 2026 QB class.
