O.K. ... You`re Mike Tomlin...

This team just seems flatter than a brand new paved highway. The Offensive line looks like a bunch of children who ride the short bus to school daily.

I'm not putting much stock in it cause it is only preseason but what I witnessed was a bunch of players that seem to think that mediocrity is satisfying.

 

The OL is YOUNG....REALLY young- and inexperienced. There are going to be alot of growing pains with them and that, unfortunately, includes stupid penalties and getting Ben killed (both which we saw last night).

Bell getting hurt seems to be a recurring theme - Dwyer didnt look bad but the O has a whole was pretty horrible. The D still doesnt seem to have much of a pass rush. I wish Cortez Allen would get out on the field so we could see what we actually have at corner. Gay is not the answer. I still like what I am seeing from Jarvis Jones.

 

noll benched TB a lot. for Gilliam, hanraty. he wasn't bashful about yanking terry when he did bone-headed things. he turned out pretty good by the benchings too. of course he had a good line in front of him.

 

I would be sitting in every OL meeting and running every drill looking for the intensity that is needed to win ball games. I would be having a heart to heart with the OL coach saying this type of effort is not acceptable.

The other thing is this is still pre-season. There are some big concerns but again they want to look at specific items. It isn't like they are game planning like they would a normal opponent.

Practice

Run drills that build team work on the OL. Pair off guys in 2 on 2 and 2 on 3 situations,run these guys through a cage drill everyday.

Tape there elbows to their sides for a hands inside drill, basically any and every HS blocking drill because these guys have forgot the basics.

 

My problem is even though they are1-2 year guys, they have been playing football all their lives and some for some power house collage programs. They are making fundamental mistakes that you learn early on.I think they are playing with Big eyes, Call in a sports shrink and level their heads or I will need one. #nflisbiggerthaniimagined

He was only involved in 3 plays. One rush for 1 yard and 2 targets with 1 reception for 9 yards.

Tomlin is a joke, no other HC in this league would put up with the sloppy play this team has demonstrated in two games, you think Belichick wouldn't have had that oline on the sideline ripping their ass, you might think Tomlin is a teacher, but his students are all flunking the test.....

 

Please don't get me started on Haley! 3rd and 10 and he calls a draw?!...to Dwyer?!?! He sucks.

 

No other HC has overseen sloppy play by their team? EVERY HC in the league would shout and scream at their o-line mid-game?

 

He needs to say "the standard' much more often.
Or, his standard SUX!
