I agree. Most of the Dallas problems are from Jerrah and Stevie Wonder's bad cap management. They made an above-average QB (playoff choker) the highest paid player in the league, invested a chunk of cap in two receivers, and can't stop anything on defense.

Aubrey is a good kicker, but 10 million a year is way too steep. I am all for reasonable for Boswell, more signing bonus, maybe an extra million, but don't overpay for a kicker. Multiple bad cap decisions have a way of snowballing. Look at Miami.

Boz is money, no doubt. But if i was in charge i'm not paying 10 mil for a kicker.

@S.T.D@S.T.D boy looking at his career stats and contract money is an interesting read. He has made 38 million and change for his 10 year pro career. In 2018 and 2022 which were the contract years he missed 7 FG's both years and of those seven misses each year the stat that jumps out is 5 of 10 in the 40-49 yard range. He also missed 5 xtra point attempts in 2018. Those were also the two lowest point totals he has had in his career 82 and 78 points respectively. Those were also seasons that he missed games as well.

In 2018,it was a awful year for him,he was on the hot seat before the 2019 season but in 2022,he had an injury, one of the reasons why he missed some games in mid-season, so it's a coincidence for 2022.

It's all probably coincidence, but it's strange. I dig the kid, and think he awesome, but I'm just going off of history with him.

Looks like the current highest APY for a kicker is $6.5mm / year for 2 years with $11.7mm guaranteed.

    The 2nd highest APY is a better contract @ $6.4mm / year for 4 years with ~ $18mm guaranteed.

This season, Boz will make $3.12mm in cash with a cap hit just under $5mm (last year of his contract).

My guess is that he gets an extension that would put him higher than anyone on this list for APY. Maybe by a fair margin because I doubt we give him 2 years of guaranteed money (although after the DK contract...who knows?).

I wonder how long a deal we'll look for. Boz has been very good for a long time, but he's also 35. Same age as Tucker when he started to slip (although maybe that was related to the off field stuff too).

I don't see us following suit if a stupid team blows that number out of the water.

Boz is great. But if he held firm at wanting something crazy like a 50% increase on the current high for APY, then I'd be OK letting him go. Although maybe the team thinks that "overpaying" him but not giving guarantees would be OK?

Boz with 14 game winning FGs, one behind Tucker for active kickers. Pay the man.
