So, after a few days of free agency, I've done a couple mocks. This one had 2 trade downs. I selected 2 OT's, thinking one could move inside and fortify the O line. Also selected 2 DT's, allowing Benson to move out of the middle. I'm interested in fortifying the trenches as much as possible, and this would go a long way towards that end. as far as a QB, Drew Allar continually stays in around the 6th round range.

    28. Kayden McDonald DT Ohio State
    53. Max Iheanachor OT Arizona State
    58. Dametrious Crownover OT Texas A&M
    69. Ted Hurst WR Georgia State
    76. Julian Neal CB Arkansas
    85. Deontae Lawson LB Alabama
    125.Zakee Wheatley S Penn State
    161.Dontay Corleone DT Cincinnati
    171.Max Llewellyn EDGE Iowa
    216.Drew Allar QB Penn State
    224.Nate Boerkircher TE Texas A&M
    230.Brett Thorson P Georgia
    237.CJ Daniels WR Miami (FL)

I did a lot of wheeling and dealing and ended up with this draft plus Buffalo’s 2027 2nd round pick using PFF’s mock draft site.

    3(76) Zachariah Branch, WR, Georgia
    3(99) Zakee Wheatley, S, PSU
    4(102) Malik Muhammad, CB, Texas

6(213) Jadon Canady, CB, Oregon (nickel)

I think I'm kind of joining the draft Ty Simpson crowd. They have plenty of picks, take a chance.

I did this one over breakfast this morning. A lot of trading both down and up to fill needs without reaching.

    2(34) Emanuel Pregnon, G, Oregon
    2(41) Emanuel McNeil-Warren, S, Toledo
2(43) Jacob Rodriguez, LB, Texas Tech
2(44) Keionte Scott, CB (nickel), Miami
3(76) Malachi Fields, WR, Notre Dame
    5(161) Drew Allar, QB, PSU
    7(237) Rayshaun Benny, DL, Michigan

This one is designed to: 1. Gain some ammo for next year’s draft, and 2. Provide support for a new starting QB in 2027 (whether a rookie, Howard or someone else). However, I would also expect key contributions in 2026 from the first 3 picks. The downside for 2026 is that I traded Herbig for Dallas’ 2027 3rd, but that was a standalone trade and even without that I came away with the Jets’ 2nd (likely very high 2nd) and the Bills’ 4th for next year. I made the Herbig trade thinking that he will likely depart for free agency anyway. I suppose I could have traded Highsmith instead, and I did not check his trade value in the simulator.

For 2026, Concepcion could be expected to be WR#3 pretty early. Pregnon would likely be an instant, significant upgrade over current roster options for LG, and Rodriguez is a savvy, productive ILB who should be a contributor in 2026 and potential starter in later 2026 or 2027.

Obviously PFF didn’t like my later picks, but eff ‘em.

Mock one is fantastic. Five would be also, if we could get a true Tackle over Dunker would be equally fantastic. 2 and 4 i don't like much. If we could get a G, Tackle, DT, and LB with the top 4 picks, that would be great.

KC Concepcion and Gonzalez makes this an A draft for me. If you could have gotten a Tackle ( say Max Iheanacho) with the 2nd pick, and a Nose Tackle in the 4th, that would have been a perfect draft.

I don't think Guard is a high need. So

I think that our 2026 need at T is dependent on the health of Jones, and I have seen no credible reports that solidify his an availability for 2026 one way or the other. If he’s unlikely to play (which our FO will know better than anyone), T should be in play very early. I would say it’s priority #1 if it’s truly a career threatening injury.

However, who is our starting LG? I don’t see anything other than a low end spot starter on our current roster.

Thinking short and long with value here..Im projecting a QB in 2027 Rd1. So i want most of the line set for him. Whether healthy and able to play or not, we are not going to pick up his 5th year. And unlikely we'd pay his ( Experienced tackle free agent cost), So injury or not, this is almost certainly Bro Jo's last season with us barring a transformational season that earns him a top 15 LT resigning. I don't see it. So im planning like he won't be here. So im drafting ( or hoping to draft) next year's tackle this year.

As for Guard, Spencer Anderson and Hoffman will battle it out and be more than capable. I think Anderson is underrated. And many Dallas fans feel the same about Hoffman. I think the winner of that battle will surprise as a top 10-12 LG. And if not, its easy to find a 2nd rd LG next draft than a 2nd rd LT..

For the above reasons and others, i think Tackle is the priority need and LH is a low level need.

That said, i am In love with KC Concepcion, Theinemann, Iheanachor, Gonzalez. And id love a draft that can get any 3 of those 4. But if we stay at 21. Tackle is goong ro be the best decision. Assuming the expected 2 tackles are there.
