What can we get for KJ/ Steelers sign RB Travis Homer

He was so bad that Jonnu Smith became the defacto 3rd RB late in the season.

 

Well to be fair he did have 4 seasons in between these events

 

I thought that was more about him wanting to get paid.

 

James Conner's biggest problem with the steelers was his durability, and at that time Tomlin was anti load management like crazy with his running backs...that stopped in 2022.

 

I think it only makes sense for the new coach to do his own assessment of the talent regardless of what the previous coach thought of certain players.

I loved Tomlin, but he did have a bug up his butt about some really talented players that were in his doghouse and couldn't get out. A couple went to other teams and became great players.

This doesn't mean that Mike Tomlin was wrong about Wilson and Johnson. I'm just glad that we get to see what a fresh set of eyes sees in a couple players that can't get any traction. Maybe Tomlin had these guys pegged right, but it will be interesting to see if McCarthy sees something more in them and can get it to translate to the field.

 

I think it was a combo of people who got KJ in the doghouse ? Some reports about AR being upset with him .. We know his ST Coach got upset ..Who knows who all else ?

The main thing MM stated is he will get a chance to show he can be a 3 down RB ..My take is he better know his playbook and he better know his assignments on the audibles ..I am not sure he can ? but his leash will be very short IMO ..

I am glad he is getting a chance and I wish him the best ..I still say the odds are stacked against him..
