For what it's worth, "this" Predator loped his dreads off this year. Not making excuses since both of those hits to CF should have been caught - the first snafu was a solid liner right at him that he may or may not have caught even standing still or moving back knowing his weaknesses at the position. It's happened to much better OF-ers. The second one was literally lost in the sun which we've all seen happen to even decent OF-ers and IF-ers but he should have been wearing shades no doubt. That's a coaching blunder right there as well as his. Man how I miss one of my favorite all time Pirates - Andy (Dick) Van Slyke as Berman used to call him.

Cruz has the highest ceiling ever apparently.
When will he start ascending is the big question.
Seems we can’t hide him anywhere on the field.

Everyone knows that really tall players have to have really high ceilings.

I understand the sun is bright. I played centerfield through high school.
If you don’t have designer sunglasses, do what you were taught in Little League, use your glove to block the sun.
Unreal the amount of excuses these pros come up with.

Hopefully whatever is ailing Skenes at the moment can be fixed.
Young man throws way tooo many pitches.
Last yr, probably the most 5 inning starts among major league pitchers
Constantly near 100 pitches after 5.
Come on Paul, we need you

Mets do have a good line-up.. but Skenes should have beat them. And sure Oneil Cruz was partly responsible----But did he walk opposing batters give up home runs-- nope--And why won't he wear sunglasses.. Is it even harder for him to see the ball ..If so they really should trade him..

Do I understand the need for the changes in MLB and other sports, absolutely. I agree with some of them. We live in a super fast paced evolving world. Gonna bite us in the ass one day but that's a story for another day.

That said, MLB is just not the same as it was back in the day. The DH, I understand the time saving element but it changed the complexion of the game BIGTIME. Challenges, I do agree with this. Now you can challenge 1 or 2 balls and strikes. They should get rid of umpire behind home plate and just let technology do the job. Inter-League play gets a NO from me but as Pink Floyd said, "Money, Money, Money". Increasing how many teams make post season. All Pro sports do it. I'm convinced one day half of the teams will make Playoffs. Again, Pink Floyd. And I'm sure the Bucs won't be one.

    Well written
Game has changed from when I was a kid to almost being unidentifiable.
    Never liked inter league play
Waters down all star game and world series
Hate the dh in national league
This took a lot of strategy out of games
Now AI calling balls and strikes
Pretty soon non humans will be the athletes across the sporting frontier

On a day when Bucs pitchers throw 9 shutout innings, they pick a hell of a day to match the opponent. Keller was excellent, unlike Skenes on Thursday. Mets have a formidable lineup. Hopefully they can hold their own in division games.

Now on a day when Bucs pitchers have 15 K's heading into bottom of ninth, have to hope for extra innings once again. Sheesh. Hate extra innings on the road especially with automatic guy on 2nd.

OK, extra inning yet again. Should we somehow push a run across the plate please don't repeat yesterday.

Reynolds, Ozuna and Horowitz stinking up the joint. Ohearn and Lowe are great pickups and the bright spots so far.
