If that is true, why do so many players flame out trying to make the position switch?

LoL. It's because of what is ask of them . Ok I'm sure you will have a excuse for this.
TJ Watt OLB, FF 36 in 9 years.
JJ Watt DE ,27 FF in 12 years.
Remember JJ Watt was one of the best DEs ever so you can't say well he just wasn't good. The difference is, it's a different position.

I don't have an excuse but JJ does. Four seasons where he played in half or less of games.

    JJ Watt - passes def. = 70
    TJ Watt - passes def. = 57

There are a bunch of things TJ has slipped in production wise. But I don't think defending passes is one of them.

He's very good at doing this.

The elite defender / helmet assaulter TJ is usually compared with career wise has 23 PDs for his entire career.

If these people would just stop listening to other dummies they would get it right. Half the time or more they read it somewhere else and regurgitate it like it's gospel

For sure. 8% pass coverage difference is like what, 80 snaps in a season? 4-5 snaps a game? Its practically nothing.

Its not that I think DE and OLB are the same. 4-3 DE and 3-4 OLB mostly are... 3-4 DE and 3-4 OLB are drastically different. So are 4-3 DE and 4-3 OLB. Its just a schematic thing based off of base defensive schemes. DE and OLB are very much different, except when comparing across different schemes. 4-3 DE are VERY similar to 3-4 OLB. Just in this particular scenario they are very close to the same. That's it.

Big fan of Cam here. Liked his dad. Like him. Little bro played on the team. Big bro carried him across the line. I'm ok with the Heywards.

LoL its practically enough to lose, or win a game.
I'm done, no matter what I show, and said with evidence, like I said earlier You, and others will believe what You want, therefore a waste of My time. No biggie. A DE, and a OLB is not the same thing.

If You tip a pass at the line its a Pass def. LoL a DT can have that, I guess DT is the same as a OLB now. LoL
