Guess the memo didn't get to everyone - it was meant as a frickin' joke. Of course there's no comparison and the only thing they had in common was their Alma Mater. But those stats posted by Saturday were very interesting.

This wasn't directed at anything you said. The one poster went nuclear going after Marino with all those stats comparing the two.

    For such a short time.
I was at Pitt the year they drafted Rivera. I worked parking cars in Oakland. Gabe Rivera came in, he had a tiny Nissan sports car. I didn’t see him, but the other guys said he looked like he was wearing it. Then a few days later he had his accident.

I dont think Kelly and Noll would clash. The only Qb that had a beef with Noll was Bradshaw. And Terry was a character to say the least.

if Noll had Kelly we get closer to the SB but not sure we win one. We didnt have much talent until we started getting all that young defensive talent in the late 80’s. Maybe Noll still retires in 91 and Cowher gets a couple rings in the 90’s as the defense reaches its peak. I think we still draft Ben and get a couple more rings.

we would have 8 rings instead of 6. Two more than the Pats.

Steelers getting Dan Marino in 1983 would have changed the 90s drastically. But even before then, the Steelers would have met the 49ers in the Super Bowl in 1984-85, and maybe the Steelers beat the Niners like they beat them in the regular season. Only team to beat the Niners that year.

We will never know what might have been had Marino been a Steeler but I am almost sure it would have meant a couple Super Bowls. With Noll or Cowher.
