i think asante samuel and holcomb were solid as well. i think holcomb will rebound betteer this year than last. that is a tough injury in just a year for many. solid depth from these two if nothing else. jamison is another that may be a sleeper in the secondary.

We'll have to wait for the contract structures to be released, but I'd imagine there isn't much guaranteed money in either deal.

So those contracts give us their rights. Probably we keep both as depth this year. But likely not hard to get out of either deal this year or next year.

Probably won't work out as well as last year because we aren't losing 2x UFA QBs. But makes sense to try to exploit this mechanism where we can.

Plus, I think getting guys in trade probably tends to work out a little better than signing high priced UFAs.

I will miss Gainwell. I keep hearing RB's are a dime a dozen so I hope to hell we find one who works.

    I'll miss him too.

But I'm glad we invested the cap money in WR and CB instead of RB2.

The cap makes every season a zero sum game.

Dowdle could do most of what KG could, at least as a runner.

I would’ve jumped through a few million hoops keeping the contract length low for KG, But, whadda I know?

He WAS our offense and competed for #1 RB n Receiver in the same season. Wrap ur mind round that. Rare.

In RB terms “a few” is key to the argument.

    Insightful.

OK, now we have 2 WR so --which free agent QB will be throwing to them--since it is obvious Mason is average--And Will Howard probably wont ever get a real chance--So is old man Rodgers it again..:confused1::confused1::confused1:

Another old CB for the Steelers, I thought they had learned their lesson to stay away from CBs in their 30s.

3 year contract seems a little long for Dean who will be 30, 31, and 32 a month after the season starts.

And you all doubted my $7 million per year prediction on Gainwell's price tag this year!

Now, how much of that will be incentives??? I remember how Najee's contract with the Chargers ended up being a lot less in guaranteed money than first reported.

Sneaky Khan did get a little extra value in the Dean pick.

But as a sneaky bonus, Dean's contract will not count against the Steelers' compensatory formula in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Because the Tampa Bay Buccaneers removed a year from Dean's contract and reduced his salary—amove that helped the Bucs financially and allowed Dean to hit free agency sooner—the comp formula no longer comes into play with Dean's signing.
