Lost Pierre and not keen on Pittman, he's not what we needed. Struggles to seperate, we've been watching that for years.

I think I like this move because it basically doesn't cost any draft capital. As always, will wait until we see the structure of the deal.

He's a legit WR2. Something we really need.

He's consistently seen > 110 targets (for the last 5 years).
    https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/P/PittMi01.htm

    Broke 1000 yards 2x.

Will be nice to have two guys who have the ability to go over 1k.

The extension has a lower AAV (< $20MM) than what he was scheduled to make this year. That's a win.

I think this is because doing a deal after a trade gives the team more leverage than they'd have with a UFA (because you could technically tag them).

I think it's good that we've finally realized that having 2 NFL WRs on a team is a good idea. Although I'd still expect a WR on day 2 of the draft (maybe even day 1).

I also think this trade supports the idea that Rodgers is coming back. We'll have two established vets who can start. Then, (hopefully) a young guy who can grow into a WR1/2.

We'll still have R Wilson on the roster (at least going into camp). If he can be a WR4, then I think we'll be in good shape at WR after a day 1 / 2 WR pick. Even without a high value draft pick at WR, we've probably already got better WRs than we've had in years (very low bar).

Are people not allowed to dislike players now?

Please let us know who we can like in future. Just so we're all prepared.

Can't believe they didn't trade for Jamar at a reduced rate for 9 years.

Khan is smart he traded for receivers two years in a row and gave them new deals to keep them happy, this way they don't have to worry about a receiver not wanting to come to Pittsburgh because of the QB situation.

It isn't nearly $30 million per season. He got $59 million for three years, not two.

This is the sort of player they desperately needed last season, a strong compliment to Metcalf. Let's hope they don't repeat the pattern and trade Metcalf away without replacing him.

What's not to like they got a WR2 without giving up much. They can still draft another receiver early in the draft.

Would you feel the same if not for the Detroit thing? I wouldn't.

He produced considering he was the only legit WR on the team.

Yes, I thought he was underwhelming all season, he was actually I really liked on Seattle, he got here and I realised I was wrong.

He dropped too many balls and made too many stupid mistakes, not nearly worth $30M a year. And his selfishness and stupidity cost the team badly. But even Detroit aside, I thought he was pretty underwhelming.

He's had some dings, but he's also regarded as one of the tougher receivers in the league for playing though them. I remember him playing through most of 2024 with a fracture in his lower back, and battled through a concussion and compartment syndrome (buildup of pressure in the muscle of the leg) as a rookie. Looks like another concussion in 2023. Through all of that though, he's only missed five games.

I like the move. He's played through mostly poor QB play throughout his career, so he'll be right at home here.

I think this is a pretty solid get. WR room certainly improves and he is undoubtedly a top 2 WR. This probably makes A Rod happy.

    Solid 50 yds/gm but unspectacular.

Good job Steelers. Now get another Wr in draft, we shouldn't be done
    with this position.

You sound like a Bengals fan. Pittman is a great pick up for the Steelers and it didn’t really cost much.

He is our #2 wr for now. Either R Wilson emerges or he is it. We are now longer spending a first or second round pick ( 70% odds ) on a WR

I agree a 10 yards a reception possession WR is not making a difference. Only way this works is if they draft someone dynamic in the draft.

    Roman Wilson???

    LMFAO.

He wouldn't even factor into my thinking at all, huge bust to this point.

I would have liked to have kept Pierre.

I think Pittman is a good pickup for a WR2. Who hopefully gets pushed for snaps from a day 1/2 pick at WR.

I wouldn't have wanted doubs either.... I was all for getting some fresh, young blood in town and developing him..... I'm starting to get the feeling that the new staff isn't much different than the old staff, and making the same old mistakes

Yeah, not as bad I recalled. Can see his whole injury history here. He gets a 5 rating for toughness and being able ot produce through injuries.

Does have a high risk for getting injured but doesn't miss many games because of them.

Pittman isn't moving any needles. 10.8 yards a reception (career) coming to a team that's looks like it's playing in treacle on offense?

    Come on man.

Lol, you beat me to that one. I started out going for it, got as far as his general summary and got distracted by something so important I can't even remember what it was now.
