I'd have been pissed. No way to know how long he can play at that level. Imagine he gets injured. Lose two picks for a guy who sits on bench.

I sure the hell don't want to see him standing over Rodgers* laying flat on his back.

    *assuming he is our QB.

I'll say the same thing I said when the Cowboys traded Parsons last year. For a move that everyone knew the team had to make, it looks like they got a very nice haul.

However...If Crosby doesn't ask to renegotiate, the Ravens have a good contract situation. Crosby signed in '22 before the Watt & Garrett ridiculous contracts so:

Annual salaries not guaranteed after this season.
Cap hit around $30M this season and under every other year until 2029, or can be released at no additional penalty if he is way below his cap number.

    Here's a painful comparison
Watt's salaries guaranteed this year and next
Watt's cap hit $42M each of the next two years.
Watt's number increases to $46M in 2028 if not released by March 15 that year. Thankfully the 2028 salary isn't guaranteed so only $10M dead cap hit in 2028

If the Ravens are stupid then the Steelers brain dead.
Rats gave up a lot but Crosby is probably the second best pass rusher in the league. Watt is probably 5 or worse now by comparison.

The Steelers should have never offered as much and they didn’t but boy I wish he went somewhere other than the Ravens.

On the bright side this may sway Rodgers to retire.

Don’t the Ravens know Crosby is entering his decline? Just ask anyone here.

Myles Garrett 1. Maxx Crosby 2. Watt about 5. TJ signed his big contract and his wallet must be hurting his back. He hasn’t done very much since. Last year he was not even being double teamed much.

They have it all figured out before anyone else in professional football ever could.

    Crosby should just retire now.

    pretty tough division

if we focus like we did against Miles against Maxx we won't win but no sacks :smiley1:
Ravens will probably grab Trey too

I didn't want Crosby for the Steelers he doesn't fit he's a 4/3 DE, but I'm not happy about the Ravens getting him.

The NFL would probably award the Ravens 37 Comp picks.

If I thought we were going to be competitive in the near term, I'd feel more strongly about it.

But I think that this is good for us in the medium term.

    1) It makes it less likely that we win the division on a fluke like last year. Bad that we are less likely to make the playoffs. But I don't think it makes us less likely to be in the divisional round.
    2) Shortens up the Rats window because they are giving up a lot of draft capital.

We need to find a good young QB. Then we'll be ascending as the Rats (and Bengals) age out.

That Watt contract was criminal. And it’s only going to get worse.

I don’t think anyone was wanting him here but it sucks out of all teams he goes to the Rats.

Lurking a Ravens board it seems pretty much the same reaction as when the Steelers signed Watt to his blockbuster extension. Ranging from "the piece we were missing", to "it could work out", to "paid way too high a price".
