Well, if this doesn't signal that Pittsburgh needs to nab OT talent ASAP, I am not sure what will. Troy Fautanu isn't my chief concern. Dylan Cook?! Oh... man... do I have some serious questions.

What's made even worse is that the team is still in need of other positions as well; WR and Cornerback being top priority. Maxx Crosby is going to a legit hell raising scheme that the likes of players such as Odafe Oweh was becoming very good in. Mind you, this is a Jesse Minter that has coached with the likes of Derwin James, Tuli Tuipulotu and others as well. Kyle Hamilton isn't DJ Jr. but he isn't chopped liver either. Adding Maxx now allows Baltimore to focus on other aspects of their Roster both in FA and heading into the draft.

This all said, it does come with one major asterisk; how long can Lamar Jackson hold up?! His athleticism isn't to be faulted. His protection, now weaker with the departure of Tyler Linderbaum, is. If anything, if it wasn't all on Lamar then, it oh most assuredly is now.

All or nothing for Baltimore. That said, if they cannot make it all the way this season, might wanna begin closing that Lamar Super Bowl Window either close to shut or shut all together.

    I agree.

    ouch.

That was about the last place I wanted him to go. I guess they had to do something....pass rush had been weak for a while now. Only...what...30 sacks last season.

Only consolation is that, as you say, it slows the filling of the holes elsewhere on their roster. Big needs at LB, OL.

It's impossible to fill the holes in one offseason... They need a full rebuild, which Rooney refuses to do.

Imagine if the Steelers had decided to trade Watt last year or the year before... They would have gotten at least one first-round pick, if not more... It's too late now.

They got two 1st rd picks for a soon to be 29 year old edge rusher who's had 17 sacks over the last two years. Interesting. Since they're not going to be serious SB contenders for the next couple years it's probably a good idea to sell high on him. It would be a little foolish to give him $80 million a year, with no QB worth a damn, just in the hopes of possibly winning one playoff game to make it seem like they're still relevant.

That price seems very high for Crosby? Presumably they also have to pay him. I suppose if he contributes to a Super Bowl then none of that matters but I’m not sure I like this from the Ravens side. They have a lot of roster gaps, particularly on offence and they’ve just given away two first round picks

Keep in mind that the Raiders had Crosby and no one else to rush the passer.

On the Ravens, with Madabuike returning from IR OLs will be under siege. If there is any consolation it's Crosby can be run on.

But the trade makes 100% sense for the Raiders. Are you watching how it's done Rooney?

[Rodgers be looking at this news and saying 'thanks, but nah, I'm done']

The Steelers have real money to spend on FA and a ton of draft picks... they need 5 positions: OT, G, DL, CB, and S. That is 5 positions with a ton of money and 12 draft picks... no damn excuse not to use those resources on top notch FA's and moving up in the draft for big time talent to fill in all 5 positions. Omar... time to start building your legacy, one way or another.

Bright side, Ravens lost 2 first round picks.

    Smart move by Raiders.

McDuffy, Moore, Crosby are trades, not FAs. And they are costing high draft capital. It makes sense when you have a franchise QB with a window. FAs are often overpays for less than hoped for performance (otherwise they wouldn't be FAs). Whatever happened to developing your own talent?

OTOH, there was no one at Raven's 1st rd pick # this year that would be close to a Crosby. Next year? Who knows?

The Ravens FO is way more proactive than ours. They know their window is closing with Lamar. Ravens got better. Omar you need to be proactive and improve our team also,

Steep price. Dallas had a 1 and 2 offer on the table which is fairer value but Ravens really wanted him.

He is only 28, Ravens window is now! Omar Kahn needs to get busy doing a job, if he can't get rid of him.

He’ll be 29 when the season starts. I have mixed feelings about it but I dont think I would be too pleased if the Steelers gave up 2 first rd picks for him.

All depends on how long he can play at this level but we saw what happened to TJ when he hit 30.

Think it was a 1 this year, a 2 next year, and Oza Odighizowa.

I think this makes sense for the Rats.

They have a QB and should be in win now mode.

It would be really stupid for us to do because we're no where near competing for a SB. I'd also be really pissed if we did this.

The Ravens have a QB who's won 2 MVPs. But not much to show for it in the playoffs (although his is 8-8...I would have guess that he was below 0.500).

IMO this kind of move makes sense for them (or a team like the Bills).

That's fine. Bal is desperate to win now, lost their Center, and now lost two 1sts. Maxx is getting old, too.

This trade may make Steelers change their draft/FA strategy, we now have the two best pass rushers in the league in our division. YIKES and you people want to run it back with AR. You can't make this up!You thought he was scared last year, wait till he faces
    the Ravens this year.

The Steelers have to take a page of what other teams do to Watt to neutralize Crosby.

    And two 1st rounders? Ouch!

And we can't trade Watt for a 1st?
