And yet Arthur Smith kept throwing him back out there. It was so frustrating.
How does a team want to hire Arthur Smith after last year?

Glad that we didn't wait this out as long as we did with Patterson last year.

Glad we don't have to pick up the obligatory Arthur Smith pet project this year.

I think the reason he didn't look bad is that we are only watching the tape to see if he was open / not open.

But it seems like AR is all about WRs being in the right place at the right time.

If he's getting open by freelancing, then it's actually taking him out of the play.

I think that's why he got benched (by Rodgers IMO).

Honestly think it was an add-on to the Ramsey deal. Steelers just wanted something more and Arthur liked him so they got him.

This is going to create a massive hole in the roster. We no longer have an option to throw a 1 yard screen pass on a 3rd and 12.

    ;)

While they are at it maybe skip resigning Heyward? The family pedigree thing seems overused.

Connor Heyward for those of us watching last year realize he is is a good addition to the team

He was the highest rated TE last season

If you want a FB he’s there

He’s very good on special teams

    He’s relatively cheap

That’s an easy choice to keep

Not sure who was doing that rating but SIS has him at the bottom of the TE room.

But yes, he found a niche with the 'brotherly shove'. Though, what happens when the brother is gone? :clapping:

Rating a fullback as a TE doesn’t make much sense now does it

And how does his ST contribution fit into your erroneous TE comparison

Steelers have him on the roster as "TE/FB". And you really don't want him lumped in with other FBs in the league cause it would be ugly.

This tells you all you need to know about the talents or lack thereof of Arthur Smith, couldn't even make use of a player he'd had for years...

He is going backwards. HC in the NFL —> OC in the NFL —> OC in CFB
