The only way I see them adding capital for next year is if they agree to a significant trade down in the first round. I'd be surprised if they did that. If we want to move up in 2027, we're going to have to trade 2027 and 2028 capital.

This isn't considered to be a great draft trading down in the first round wouldn't be the worst idea.

Yeah, but because it isn't a great draft, it will be tough to find trade partners that are going to want to trade way up.... Not that it wouldn't be a bad idea, it's just going to be harder to find a partner willing to give up big value to move up with us.

I hope the Steelers are proactive in trade and FA market. But as SGSteeler said it takes two to tango.

Certainly Arch is the Heisman favorite going into the season but keep an eye on Mensah who transferred to the U. He is an extremely accurate passer who if he came out this year would have been at least a second round pick.

Yes, I am hoping to see the Steelers moving UP in the first 3 rounds with their extra picks this year.

Hoping to see the Steelers use Dallas's 3rd round pick (George Pickens), to move up in the 1st round and select a WR.

What about this year, some good players can be had by being pro active.

    What they should do:
Trade out of the 1st, possibly adding a 1st in 2027 in the process.
Trade down in the 2nd either adding to 2027 or multiple 3rds.
Trade down in the 3rd adding 2nds to 2027.

I could see a draft day trade or more this year. Not sure what it would look like, just don’t think you bring in 12 rookies.

Good list of players. Sorsby has a big opportunity to rise. So does Mensah. Hoover and Stockton are a bit overrated in this IMO.

The first 4 guys are VASTLY superior prospects to the top prospect in this year's draft. If we want a QB, next year is going to be the year to want one.

You're right. Can't bring in 12 rookies. I hope it's around 7 or 8 and they move up to the top of the second round or add picks next year.

Caleb Downs and Sonny Styles are the only two options I would entertain trading up for if I am Pittsburgh. Of the two, Styles is the dream level scenario. Payton Wilson to me is still very much worthy of starting while Styles can slot in instantly given how he is familiar already playing within an NFL Defense that uses very complex formations and assignments. In addition, of the two, Styles possesses the better chance to be available as Downs is likely Top Five at this point.

If not those two?! One of the WRs though it had better be either K.C. or Carnell. Pittsburgh needs a Wide Receiver with a PhD. in both separation and route running. The two aforementioned have both in spades. Either or would allow D.K. to tear opposing secondaries a new one.

I'm not very savvy on valuations of players or draft positions, and I try not to say goofy things without giving it some thought. Like "we need to trade this for that" without thinking of the ramifications. At what pick number could it make sense to move up for a Styles or a Tate, without us losing too much in value? Say, pic 12, 13, 14 ??? I'm guessing people would want our second and more pics or our second and a solid starter, is that reasonable?

I am being very optimistic on Tate. Wide Receivers like him usually don't fall out of the Top 10 too often. If anything, I'd be shocked if he is selected outside of the Top 10. Sonny is very much in the same boat but due to the lack of importance teams place on the position, it wouldn't surprise me if he still is within the Top 15.

As for asking price?! Excellent question! It is dependent on the team. One single first round swap surely isn't going to cut it. In addition, I personally would elect to move Patrick Queen out of here if possible?! If not that, this year's first, two of this year's second and next year's fifth should work.

As I say in my bio, Sonny Styles isn't going to com cheap. However, he will be worth every pick given up. Among the players who have the best odds of being a HOF Player in this class, I am pushing my chips in the middle of the table for Sonny Styles.

My pro comparison for him was Brian Urlacher. Urlacher turned out pretty damn good. No reason Sonny can do the same.

I hope it will be the case...This is very unlikely but I would love like crazy to have 2 first round pick in 2027 and make a similar trade that the rams did last year with the falcons
