Didn't see another one made yet, but R.I.P Mike Wagner. Just. saw the news on X. The only original dynasty player I ever met.

Posted on SD now. Very sad, one of my favorite players from the dynasty era.

    Underrated, in my opinion.

    RIP, Mike!

RIP Mike Wagner. He understood football as well as anyone on the 1970s team. Franco was a smart player. Ham was a smart player. Bradshaw's football intelligence was underrated. Joe Greene discovered the 4-3 slant, which made him even harder to block.

Yes. My first trip to the Burg in 2019 for MNF against the Dolphins.

Sorry for the enlarged picture, just as I was setting up the post, I had to run my cat to a Pet ER (He's OK for now.)

    May he RIP.

That's a very cool picture. He always came off as one of the most likeable guys. Just a regular guy that happens to play professional football.

I hope everything is OK with your buddy. Good luck.

Thanks, he's OK at the moment. When I met Mike, that is exactly how he was. very friendly, reserved, and down-to-earth. It was strange; a lot of people who were around there didn't seem to realize who he was.

Did you get your cat high on catnip;) Good luck to the little fellow!!

My wife watches an exercise video where the mom and son exercise with 6-7 cats running around. They are people who rescue cats. They leave a ball with catnip hanging around and the cats are so funny after partaking in it.

Mike was good player. And a very underrated Steeler! He ranks on the top 10 of all Steeler safeties, I say.

    May he rest in peace.

    - I remember he signed a relatively large contract in the 70’s and one of the stipulations was he was not allowed to ski anymore. At the time I did not know such clauses existed.

    - One day in the 70’s I looked down from on high and realized that all 11 defensive players on the field were or had been All Pro at least once, including Mr Wagner. For anyone who wants to argue who the best defense ever was.

I believe the only player that never made a Pro Bowl from the Steel Curtain was Ernie Holmes and for a while he was more feared than Joe Greene.
