There is a good reason Ben wasn't well liked when he was younger, Kaboly said Ben was a piece of garbage in those early years. I have heard stories that Ben wouldn't sign stuff for teammates relatives when they would be around the team.

From 2017 when he was a coach for the Steelers:

Joey Porter Arrested After Altercation with Police

    https://www.foxsports.com/stories/n...porter-arrested-after-altercation-with-police

    https://sites.law.duq.edu/juris/2017/02/26/the-full-story-of-joey-porters-incident-at-the-flats/

A quote from Porter in a team statement:

Porter said in a team statement via ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, “I regret that I was involved in an incident that could have been a distraction to our team,” Porter said. “Most importantly, I regret that I touched the police officer and I sincerely apologize for that action. Thankfully, no one was injured.”

Porter pleads no contest to punching Levi Jones at a blackjack table. It wasn't just Porter. Several others joined in to assault Jones: https://www.espn.com/nfl/news/story?id=2887487

The NFL fined him three game checks $141,176 for his actions during the incident: https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-fines-porter-for-las-vegas-scuffle-09000d5d80028502

Showing his players by example how to conduct themselves and how to be a good teammate, coach, and leader.

Porter is a real leader and he knows leadership when he sees it.....Just ask him.

Spitting on people, incidents with police, shot outside a bar, plead no contest to battery for punching Levi Jones at a blackjack table with multiple other males assaulting Jones, suspended from games, many personal foul penalties that hurt the team, never listening to the coach and running his about other teams' players before games, guaranteeing wins that his teammates have to make stand up.

Porter is lucky he's not in a cell or much worse for some of the stuff he was involved in.

I always wondered why some of them didn't try moving south. I know if I was homeless, southern winters would have to be better than Iowa ones.

Also servers and other service industry workers despised him. Where there is smoke there is usually fire.

Unfortunately, I don't think that's how the minds of many of the people in that situation work.

Was just reading and watching some of the stuff on this dumpster fire of drama. It's really sad in my opinion. Porter and all those agreeing and encouraging him are just driving home the point of what many have been saying for more than a decade about Tomlin. Now Tomlin detractors can just say "see, I told you Tomlin couldn't control his players" and "I knew Tomlin changed the culture for the worse". Now the Steelers are acting like other whiny@zz organizations full of drama and malcontents. It's sad really watching a bunch of grown men act like a bunch of women in a knitting circle. Heck what Ben and deebo said wasn't anything bad or besmirching Tomlin's character or anything. They just gave honest opinions. I kept hearing from friends about it and seeing headlines until I finally researched it. It's sad and embarrassing in my opinion. Ready for this new era to begin and I hope like heck it resets in a good way and McCarthy doesn't put with it.

I hear you. I live in northeast PA and this has been our coldest winter in 30 years. It has to be absolutely brutal for the homeless dealing with this weather.

I just know that the homeless exist mostly in urban areas, have no resources, and they rely on whatever support systems are in place where they currently are in the form of shelters, soup kitchens, etc. When you combine that with those that suffer from mental illness, I just don't believe that a large percentage have the capability to make a move away from where they are.

We should be thankful and appreciate the things we have in our lives. There are many less fortunate.

There, but for the grace of God go I.

Yet, Seattle and Portland both have worse homeless problems than we do.

I was going to say, I've lived all over the North, and South of Middle America, and East America, and I've seen way more homeless up North than the south. I've never been farther west than Flagstaff Arizona though, so I can't speak of anything west

We are in new territory. Everyone has a podcast now and drama sells. No one wants to hear about everyone getting along.

Joey has the experience needed to identify bad behavior.

Amazing how truth turns little daisies into bigger tulips.

Big Ben was never a leader.

Joey was a leader. All you gotta do is talk to Jerome Bettis.

Joey backing up Mike Tomlin has more to do with the friendship than logic.

James Harrison was 100% right on everything Mike Tomlin.

Pouncey backing Big Ben, see Joey supporting Tomlin.

Big Ben pissed off one of the greatest leaders the Steelers had in Hines Ward. That should tell you a lot about who Ben was.

Steelers do not win **** without Big Ben.

And that's life. Society creates duality when there isn't one. It's a mind control mechanism. Ben can still be great and still be an ******* who isn't a leader. Mike Tomlin can still be respected and be an average coach. Life isn't all or nothing like people allow it to be.

I don’t remember asking 3 times but I think given the convo it was warranted.

Some people put dogs above people and to me its always been odd. When a sexual assault accusation comes up in sports fans of the person are quick to demonize the victim, quick to forgive the athletes behavior.

and I’m not defending Vick’s behavior but the man paid a debt and looks like he turned his life around but some will never forgive him.

yet, with Ben they go on the attack when people refuse to forgive or forget his behavior.

Based on the thoughts of most here in this thread, I thought bad behavior of any kind made everyone a ****head and a scumbag that is an idiot and can't be trusted.

Only on this message board can Porter continue to do stupid things over multiple decades, commit crimes, plead guilty to charges, and somehow become more qualified to question others in the eyes of people trying to pin a crime on someone that was never charged or convicted of anything.
