The Patriots won't have the benefit of playing the easiest schedule next year we will find out how good they really are.

A lot of players I didn't realize are still in the league. You have to think that there are a lot of career backups who've never hit that big payday. Pulling a couple of extra years at just over a mil must be huge for some of these guys who just scrap their way through camp and the regular season every year.

    I gave this a like

Not because I like it but I can relate

I went to dig up an old related post and it was depressing

Turns out it was from 2016 and I decided not to necropost it

Half of the responders are gone :sorry:

I just got 7 more stitches which puts me at 63

No matter what just keep moving

    Steelers
    Seahawks
    Vikings
    Packers

    You are correct. Keep moving.

When you stop moving, you're in trouble.

I work in healthcare, and you are dead on. Whatever you do, do not stop moving. All downhill from there imo. I see it all the time.

I did attend this with my son a couple years back. The outside part of the event was phenomenal. Lots of family activities especially if you have young kids. The display of all the Super Bowl rings was probably the best part of it for me. My son enjoyed that as well.

Attending inside was something completely different. It was so quiet in there that you could hear a pin drop from the other side of Lucas Oil Stadium. You were only allowed to whisper and even then security gave a dirty look and a shush hand signal. I get it. It is for teams to evaluate talent but really think they could make it more fan friendly and hype up players by allowing cheering. My son and I left after about an hour. If you are a football enthusiast then I recommend going but don’t expect your young kids to be entertained completely inside the venue. Also, it’s 100% free and we didn’t even have to pay for parking.

In which we don't have. Yet.

The right side is pretty solid as well as the center. Now that Seumalo's contract is up a position of need is at left guard. I do like Mason McCormick who was a 4th rounder so they can find another hopefully in the 3rd and add a FA. The left tackle position is another matter. I liked how Dylan Cook played when Jones went down.

The way I feel is that Jones was unfortunately a miss. I don't see them taking a left tackle in the 1st. So hopefully Cook can hold down the position and excel. He is signed through the 2026 season and if his play increases with the arrow pointing up he will get a nice fat contract hopefully with us.

I don't think McCormick is all that. They could really use an upgrade at both guard spots. McCormick would be a good backup. And Cook may have already reached his ceiling. He struggled against good DEs. Honestly, we were so used to horrendous LT play that almost anything would look like a step up.

The guy was a 4th rd pick that was supposed to be a developmental player that excelled in his first season, why would you not want to see him continue to develop his craft with a first season like that? No one even expected him to play last year.

McCormick isn't going anywhere, that side of the line is locked down. They need to focus on LG and what they want to do with Jones at tackle.

Offseason sucks. Especially when you have current and former Steelers airing out dirty laundry on lame podcasts.

Wish Peezy, Cam, James and Ben would stfu. And of course Ryan Clark. I'll give the latter a little rope given that is his job in the media.

    Toddlers.

we have a real O-Line coach now. everyone wants to write cook off as hitting his limit. how did he struggle against good DE's? don't most? that's what makes them good DE's. cook gave up 1 sack in 6 games played. figure that into a season and that is 3 sacks in 18 games. that is much better than we have had. i don't think there is a guy out there that goes without giving up a sack during the year. it happens. then there was the we don't run to the left. well that was dispelled and he did quite well when we ran to that side. now the guy that needs help even more is fautanu. he looked like the turnstile at times. i hope this staff can fix this whole line. we will go as far as they do.

    Bored:

Chuck Noll's first game as Steelers HC: WIN on the road and it was the only Steeler win that season. Chuck Noll's last game as Steelers HC: WIN

Bill Cowher's first game as Steelers HC: WIN on the road. Bill Cowher's last game as Steelers HC: WIN on the road

Mike Tomlin's first game as Steelers HC: WIN on the road. Mike Tomlin's last game as Steelers HC: LOSS

Mike McCarthy ?? Only thing I'm certain of is he will not be Steelers HC as long as any of the big 3 of SB era.

Another off season fun fact. :hi:

I think they just have 2 now. Tom Arth - QB's coach, and Scott McCurley - Inside linebackers coach.
They did keep Gerald Alexander - Secondary coach, but he's since joined the Vikings coaching staff.

    • Frazier was #2 in the NFL in lowest blown block rate among all starting OL, just behind Humphrey.
    • Cook's run blocking was often aided by the extra OT and a TE in the run game.
    • McCormick had the same number of blown blocks his rookie season as he did this year. He played a hundred more snaps this season so a slight improvement from his rookie year.
    • At this rate, Jones doesn't look to be a starter in this league unless the new OL coach performs a miracle.
Other than drafting Seumalo's replacement (who will be too expensive to resign and an injury risk) I don't see the Steelers investing much in the OL. Maybe a late round pick. It'll be up to the new coaching staff to see what they can do with what they got.

i think with 5 picks in the first 3 rounds, we may see a guard as one of them. if we don't go the free agent route which is a possibility.
