If we have to go into week one with a retread, then go with Rodgers. Otherwise, every other options is less exciting.

I'd like to have a training camp with an actual, legit QB competition. The only thing slightly interesting about Flacco is he might be willing to be a veteran backup/mentor. So, you could actually have a training camp with legit competition with Howard. Otherwise, a camp with Rodgers or Cousins, etc., is just going to be bringing in a starter.

McCarthy talks about Howard like he has a lot of potential. Gruden talks about him like he's franchise QB material. We need to find out. He needs reps with the 1's.

With this current OL... I don't think Rodgers would last the '27 season, even with better coaching and schemes. Steelers need left side of OL upgraded. Maybe Cook can make the leap to quality LT vs best competition. Need to draft best available LG early... like in round 2 or 3.

Tua would be a terrible choice, the concussions have really affected him. He plays scared and clearly too me does not process the game as well as he did before the concussions. I hate to say it but he is one that I think will have major neurological problems down the road.

Don't forget that Mike McCarthy traded for Trey Lance in Dallas.

I will not be at all surprised to see 25 year old free agent Trey Lance in Pittsburgh next year.

The same crap fans said about the 2025 season Rodgers wouldn't last but he did, the OL has a chance to be better in 2026 and the WR room will be improved.

I know call me crazy, but won't Rodgers be a year older in 2026? :)

Rodgers is not getting any younger!

I mean, you really need a QB that can move the pocket more in todays NFL. When AR was playing well, he was moving well.

I'm okay with Rodgers coming back provided he knows ahead of time that if he can't beat out Mason or Howard then he's not guaranteed to start. If he's not willing to take on that challenge then he's already half way retired.

Somehow, I don't think beating out those two will be a problem for Rodgers.

How many years of stopgaps are we going to have?

We need to identify our QB for the next 6-8 years minimum, not for the next year or two. That's just perpetuating what we've done since Ben blew his elbow out in 2019

I would actually not mind Rodgers in the QB room ... as a vet minimum film guy breaking it down for the youngins

Do you really expect him to be competitive a year later?
