    Meh.

If contracts were similar for both (i.e. really cheap), I'd rather have Fields because presumably there is some upside.

But I could see Rooney preferring Flacco because he's probably still a better passer and gives a better chance to win games in the short term (even though it likely makes the medium term worse).

Having Flacco around as a backup if we get a good young QB would probably also be reasonably good.

I think Flacco should stay home and play with himself!

It is time to move forward with a young QB of our own. Before Flacco, I'd rather roll with Howard or Mason.

Even better, we should have reached further for Darnold when we had the chance.

The idea of Flacco on the Steelers kinda makes me sick.

I think I’m done with the retreads. New coaching staff, new QB, new start. I’d rather see Howard given every opportunity to win the job…. Bring in another young guy from the draft or poached off another team’s roster. Maybe a vet for a backup, but we basically have that with Rudolph.

I do not think the new HC wants to continue on the path we took last 2 seasons. Flacco would mean 2-3 more years before a young steady QB.

AR greater than Joe and Joe greater than Mason .. So same song get AR back get him some weapons and give Will some actual in game packages..Joe can help Coach Will and the young WR'S, then if AR goes down decide who you want starting ..

The more I hear these things makes me wonder if Rooney is so afraid of making a mistake that he is considering an old coach like McCarthy and possibility brining in familiar faces so to speak. Just rip the band-aid fully off and rebuid this bad boy. No washed up dudes, move on to youth and build a new team!!

We have to get rid of this narrative, get the young guys here and ready to play.

If you had said this a few seasons ago, I might agree. But there's no upside with Fields anymore. His best asset is his legs. We need someone who can throw. I don't want to waste anymore time with a guy like Fields. Chicago kicked his tires. We kicked his tires. Jets kicked his tires. He is what he is. Gifted athlete with inconsistent passing and slow processing. I'd be seriously ill if we brought him back.

I don't want Flacco either but I'd for sure take him over Fields. And I'd throw Will Howard to the wolves before I'd give Fields another go. If the coaching staff wants a veteran for 2026, look elsewhere.

I'd take Flacco over Fields any day. I'm not sure I wouldn't take Flacco over Rodgers, just because Flacco doesn't seem from the games I've watched of him this year as scared as Rodgers of getting hurt.

I agree 100% on Flacco vs. Fields. Maybe on Flacco vs. Rodgers. What gives me pause is that Flacco looked good with an elite WR tandem. It’s really, really unlikely that we will have anything close to that for 2026.
