    I'd love to meet his lawyers because they sound like some real winners. Once he realizes the opposing counsel will get to depose him and he will have to divulge the reasons he was at the game and why he was attempting to provoke Metcalf, he just might think about dropping the case. Do they have slap laws in Michigan?

    Exactly. To win a defamation suit, you must prove that the defendant a) made a false, defamatory statement of fact; b) published it to a third party; and that c) it did damage to your reputation.

    That you're experiencing C, does not make A or B a reality. The lawyer taking this up must be really hard up for that retainer.
