So I came across the Steelers 75th all-time anniversary team online, which was announced back in 2007.

Bennie Cunningham was one of the two tight ends chosen along with Elbie Nickel.

Cunningham played 10 years for the Steelers caught 202 passes and scored 20 touchdowns with 0 Pro Bowls.

Eric Green played 5 years for the Steelers caught 198 passes and scored 24 touchdowns with 2 Pro Bowl seasons.

Make it make sense please. Thank you.

Heath Miller had played only two seasons when the 2007 75th Anniversary All-time Steelers team was selected.

Green had the misfortune of playing on some very forgettable Steelers offensive teams during the early years of Cowhers tenure. Brister/NOD at QB, Foster/Morris/Pegram at hb, Hoge/John L Williams at FB a whole host of whose who at WR behind Thigpen. Those guys had some great games but to the fans in the early 90's they didn't come close to the players from the dynasty years. Had the 94 team beat the Chargers at home in the AFCCG I think you would definitely see Green near the top of TE's for the all time team.

Mac is spot on about Miller but I'd also say Bruener was very underrated on those 90's Steelers team as well. He was definitely a jack of all trades and nearly a master at all of them.

Cunningham played with two hall of fame receivers and a hall of fame RB, no surprise his stats aren't that great.

and he had already been 2nd on the list of offensive rookie of the year. had 73 receptions and 11 TD's. if they would have included the 2007 season inwhich the list was made, he would have had 120 receptions and 18 TD's by then.
agreed. bruener is still the one and only jersey i have purchased to this day. lunch pail guy.

greens downfall to me was he could have been so much more if he even worked a little bit on his body and staying in shape. when he couldn't make the end zone because he was gassed was pretty hard to watch. he could have been probably the best TE of all time with a little work.

Granted the TE spot is a weak area for the team. Nickel was a good player, worthy of mention. But Cunningham over Miller?? No way.

When was this written? Oh, I see 2007. IMO Watt and Heyward are better than the players selected, no disrespect for Lloyd . White is a weak choice.
