I hope he drove up an IROC Z with a t-top chain smoking cowboy killers with Welcome to the Jungle at full volume.

Gennings has both the length, size and strength needed to be "ass whoop city" as a Guard for certain. The issue is his overall lack of flexibility, lateral movement and his propensity to overextend at times. Now, the move to Guard from being a tackle will mitigate those flexibility and lateral movement issues but only so much.

Gotta remember that these IDL and EDGEs that keep coming out keep getting more and more explosive, fast and quick. All that does for opposing DCs is make game planning a lot easier when IDing the weakest link of the Offensive Line. Given how IOL are inherently not the most flexible nor quick footed, they can be exploited pretty darn easily. Dunker's issues will be his overall lack of range due to his overall lack of lateral capability; more quicker IDLs being a major challenge for him early on.

That said, outside of Kadyn Proctor and Vega Ioane, good luck finding other powerful Offensive Lineman like him. Dunker is arguably the strongest in the class. That level of strength with the level of length to aid him with proper training?! Dude will be a road grading monster with the right coaching.

    Agreed 100%.

Never mind just find a Left Guard. Find one that is starter capable. All the more reason I hope that the team focuses a good amount of resources on WR in Free Agency. As much as I would love the team to nab Makai Lemon from USC or even like the team to draft Denzel Boston from the University of Washington, Trench Warfare is still the best way to increase a teams chances of winning. For that matter, the Seahawks have shown that already this season time after time and New England's isn't too shabby themselves.

You already know who I would pick for pick 21; your Alumni in Vega Ioane. There isn't a more capable plug 'n' play, Day One Ass Kicker in the class that Pittsburgh has a shot of getting like him. I also doubt it wouldn't be too much of an adjustment period for him either.

    ?!

Dylan Cook as a Left Guard?! That wouldn't work. Cook has both the requisite footspeed, flexibility and agility to play on the outside. That said, he isn't as starter capable as others believe. If anything, I wouldn't be surprised if Offensive Tackle isn't taken early; doubly so since the severity of Broderick Jones' Neck Injury does leave him in question for the 2026 Season.

Or sign a good guard in free agency (if one is available). I haven’t dug into the numbers recently, but I’m pretty sure a top WR is going cost more than a top G. I don’t know who is going to be available in free agency at either position, so that will obviously be key to the strategy.

Have you studied Rutledge? I read that they had to tell him to tone it down at the Senior Bowl because he was pancaking dudes.

Perhaps on cost regarding the WRs. Perhaps not. As far as good Guards?! Alijah Vera Tucker would be about the only one assuming he isn't tagged by the Jets. Beyond him?! Not a lot of options. David Edwards maybe?! He is 28 and has done good work for the Bills.

Now for WR options?! Rashid Shaheed would be the proverbial big prize for the team while another like Christian Kirk (assuming he is let go) is another good option. Romeo Dobbs is another high level signing as well. Don't forget about Jauan Jennings either.

Overall?! Finding a good Guard is much more difficult than finding a good number two WR. Supply meets demand for the WR Position in every NFL Draft anymore. Even with the uptick in IOL that have gone in Round One since 2022 starring Tyler Linderbaum?! IOL is far more difficult to even get a quality starting one; doubly so a good one.

Rutledge is going to make a lot of money at the NFL Combine. For that matter, in the event that the Steelers don't get the likes of Vega Ioane, Emmanuel Pregnon or even Chase Bisontis, bookmark Keylan as someone who the Steelers will opt to get. Can play either spot but he will need to be coached up some before he can hit the field. Should Pittsburgh nab a FA LG who is a good one, I would still say opt to grab Keylan in the second round. Dude is that damn good.

Denzel Boston then would be the odds on favorite for a lot of people. Fair warning; people keep comparing to Tet McMillian and I honestly don't see it. Tet's greatest asset was how violent he was when attacking the football in the air in addition to instantly ID'ing soft spots in multiple coverages. Boston doesn't do that as well but two things that Boston does have more than Tet is his overall agility and YAC. Tet was stiff as hell coming out while Boston is more fluid overall in his movements.

My pro comparison?! Reminds me more so of Michael Pittman Jr. Both have great agility for their size and both are capable of gaining some YAC but both also have issues beating press along with ID'ing soft spots in some Zone Coverage. An alternate comparison would be Puka Nacua though when using that comp, I am merely referring to his combat catch abilities and overall toughness.

For my odds on favorite?! Makai Lemon; Wide Receiver out of USC. This team is in dire need of a WR who has a Ph.D in Route Running. Makai Lemon is the best one in the entire class. Pair his route running with D.K.'s Speed and you have something to work with.

Thought he retired or something, haven’t seen him around for a while.

Now that’s one hire I can get behind. I really like him for our young line.

    Yay!
