Steelers will have room to operate. This could be a very good offseason with 12 drat picks and a lot of cap space.

Holy ****. 300 mil? When the cap was first put in, in 1994, it was $34 million.

I saw 50 million should be the Steelers starting point without making any moves to free up more.

McCarthy era set to get off to a good start.

It's always good to have lots of cap space. The years of always seemingly having negative cap space are over!

It's one of the reasons why it's important to find out if you have a young quarterback that can play. That way the team has multiple years to try to contend with a cheap rookie contract on the quarterback and they can stack the rest of the roster with the money they save on the quarterback position.

I don’t get excited about the additional cap. Every team gets it so no advantage.

What other teams get doesnt even factor in it for me.

I like it because it allows us to fill holes. If they actually use it. They could have made more than one big signing than DK last year but chose not to.

Hoping things change with McCarthy here, they are already expanding the size of the staff so fingers crossed.

I think a lot of what they did last year was with an eye on this year

Before Omar they did not think that way

over the cap says we have 45,604,170 to work with at this point. nice starting spot. a few good cuts and we could be around the 100 mil range before this cap increase. :dancing::smiley1::cool:

And somehow between that and 5 good picks in the draft we still won’t have a WR2

But the FA and Watt's contract are crippling the Steelers. They can't sign anyone. Oh my! LOL.

For FA it is almost totally dependent on other teams. With a significant raise in the cap league wide, most of those list of shiny free agents floating around are pute fantasy. More cap dollars means less movement as teams resign more of their own.

And what is left tends to be over priced

Best thing to do in FA is fill in some missing gaps so you don’t have to reach in the draft
