I don’t think we need to guess which QB you like this year.

    we.... like different players lol

I think mock 2 is my favorite... I'd be picking out my favorite brand of bleach and a nice whisky glass if we did Mock 3 LMAO

I do like Sarratt a good deal (maybe less than you since he's in almost all your drafts), he won't position as a #1 in the NFL, but if it all works out I can see him having an Anquan Boldin impact. I almost prefer his teammate Cooper to him though. Different play style (and one I think we need more than Sarratt's). I'd take either.

I think Igbinosun is a good lottery ticket in the third. Tall, lean, athletic... He's a guy that could be coached up into a Peezy type guy with more speed. For a round 3 tag, I like that upside.

Isaiah World is a good shot in the dark in round 3 too.

I would be quite sad if we went with a guard in round 1. I just.... this team needs more right now. If we're in a rebuild, then maybe... but we are VERY invested in our OL (two firsts a second and a 4th). I don't think we can afford the capital on that position (especially when great talent is available in rounds 2-4 at the position).

I did a mock to at least put my money where my mouth is lol I'll tell you though, I almost didn't post it because one of the picks has 0 shot at happening.

    1. Jordan Tyson WR-ASU
    2. Sonny Styles ILB-OSU (don't know how a top 30 prospect fell lol I would have taken Dillon Thieneman (S-Ore) or McNeill-Warren (S-Toledo) had Styles not been there)
    3. Dominique Orange DT-ISU
    3. Elijah Cooper Jr. WR-IU
    3. D'Angelo Ponds CB-IU (slot)
    4. Jakobe Thomas S-Miami (would've been a ILB here instead, except for the Styles thing)
    4. Davison Igbinosun CB-OSU
    5. Charles Jagusah OL-ND (OG)
    6. Jamal Haynes RB-GaTech
    6. J. Michael Sturdivant WR-FL
    7. Riley Mahlman OL-Wisconsin (OT)
    7. Micah Morris OL-GA (OG)

We don't go into the draft with obvious holes to fill. I expect us to make FA moves before the draft.

If Rodgers comes back for another season, I'm not positive we draft aQB this draft. Not positive we don't, but makes more sense to me to bring in another FA that can either take over after Rodgers, upgrade Rudolph, and challenge Howard.

Gainwell is not a given to return. We didn't get very much from KJ in his rookie campaign. I think a FA RB will be signed. (Gainwell or other)

I don't think Isaac Seumalo will be back. Maybe, I just don't think so. Vera-Tucker was someone the Steelers were interested in during his draft year. He's a FA from the Jets. So is Zion Johnson and Trevor Penning. Not saying we won't draft an OG early, just there are a lot of good ones in FA also.

I think because WR FAs are commanding such large contracts, we will bring in one mid-level FA and draft 2-3 WRs. I don't personally like drafting first round Wrs, but we may do exactly that this draft.

Lmao...... Mock 3 was thrown off by my accepting a trade down with Philly, who was also targeting Loane..... I would've liked to address D-line in said mock, but the simulator kept having teams snatch up my targets.. I still was able to attack some other needs....

I disagree about taking O-line in rd 1.. yes, there is talent at the position in later rounds, but Loane is special.. I would be majorly upset if Loane was available at 21 and we pass on him... Seamalo absolutely needs to be replaced....

Yes, I went with Sarratt in half of my mocks, but my favorite receiver that was actually available in the simulator is Brazzell...

Keep an eye on Lander Barton... this kid is only a step slower than Peyton Wilson and has serious range...

We have a head coach that supposedly specializes in developing QB's (or so says Mr. Rooney), so I don't see us taking him as that big a deal... his arm and athletic ability are worth a mid rd gamble...
Besides.... i'm still looking at Will Howard as our starter

Agreed 100% on Vega. While the WR Corps still needs a tune up, I'd say spend some of that money in FA where the talent in the WR Pool will be greater than the IOL. Finding a rock solid starting IOL is much more difficult than finding a Number 2 WR.

Now, if not Vega Ioane?! I would then opt for K.C. Concepcion but only if the board is unfavorable.

Very realistic B+ G . We would all like certain players many times they may not be available.

The criticism of Taylen Green from the Senior Bowl he would drop his eyes and just look to run, and he couldn't make throws consistently.

He's a bigger, stronger, faster Justin Fields. I would take a flyer on him in the fourth round or later. He is just so big and fast that a good coach would find a way to include him in a few plays every game. He's certainly not an every down NFL QB but he could help a team with certain packages customed to his skill set.

He's a wasted pick too raw won't play for a few years IMO, I think Fields was farther along as a passer than Green. If they want a QB to develop, I like Allar maybe they can fix him.

Wouldnt surprise me if he did this time around.

That said, the point still stands not just from a singular viewpoint but also from a historic one. A starting IOL has either more to far more importance in any Offense than a WR 2. Yes, finding a WR 2 is not easy but the supply of WRs not just in each NFL Draft but also in FA limit that difficulty overall.

Cannot say the same for IOL. Even decent starting ones in FA are signed long term for those are not easy to acquire.

I agree by the way with the o-line being more valuable. But, if Pickens had more maturity, having that #2 WR would have been a big help to Rodgers.

    True.

Thankfully, as I said, supply often meets demand when it comes to finding a WR 2. For that matter, i expect the Steelers to go for one in FA.

I have a funny feeling that most of the high profile free agents will re-sign with their teams.......
Besides.... the more I look at it, the more i'm believing that we have enough draft capital to shore up the holes on the team if the chips fall the right way

i saw talk about the TE from Oregon as our first pick. more of a big WR. this isn't really crazy talk with smith not living up to the hype and donald parham injury. this would give MM another big weapon in his arsenal. i wouldn't but that's my opinion and it means squat. :smiley1::cool:

Sadiq would need to run a sub-4.5 40 time to be considered a slot receiver. The Steelers need an elite route runner who gets separation and catches everything.

well with 12 picks i'm sure they get a WR or two. smith needs to go and this would be a big upgrade to what he did for us. they are saying he's a 4.55 guy at 6-3 245. carnell tate which may be a top 10 player is 6-3 199 and runs about a 4.60. that's a big target that runs pretty good for that size.

Jackson - Didn't start right away. Was a project even though he started the later half of the season. It took the Ravens a couple of years for Lamar to become a passer.

Rodgers - Didn't start right away.

Hurts - Didn't start right away.

Roethlisberger - Picked 11th....come on. Also, wouldn't have started right away if it wasn't for injuries to both Maddox and Batch. They eased Ben into the offense over 3 years.

Love - Didn't start right away.

Also, I said MOST, not ALL.
