Good hire. And just one more thing to prompt Rodgers to return in 2026 (although I'm not in favor of it).

I like what I am reading. McCarthy is putting together and upgrading our coaching staff!

Now he, unlike Tomlin, has a coaching tree.

During his time as head coach, four assistant coaches, (Joe Philbin, Ben McAdoo, Kellen Moore, and Brian Schottenheimer) on his coaching staff were hired as head coaches across the league

Of course he is, what's happening now is they're stringing it out a bit so it doesn't look like this was all sorted days after MT stepped down. Which it definitely was.

Campen looks like the best move so far.

If I was just watching that video without knowing who he was I'd think that's the kind of coach I want my team to get.

Campen may be a dark wizard of an OL coach and able to fashion random large human beings into Pro Bowl offensive lineman on a whim - I don't know.

But I do know that most of the guys on that list started from about the jump due to injuries and cap issues. They didn't sit on the bench and slowly learn their craft.

Could be the OL coach. Could be scouting. Could be that many of those guys were some of the top OL prospects in their class that slipped for whatever the reason.

Do those of you excited about Campen give Mayer credit for McCormick? Spencer Anderson? Is Dan Moore development or just a draft find? What about the big FA OT that the Colts gave up on and then was decent before he got injured?

I have been told and argued that the Steelers OL coaches were subpar...but they have several mid-round success stories as well....scouting....development....both? Got to use the same evaluations all around...

Very good hire. Probably Mike McCarthys best thus far as far as positional coaches go. Will have to wait for the rest but Campen was one of my personal favorite Offensive Line Coaches.

Not quite like Jeff Stoutland, Dante Scarnecchia or even Bill Callahan but not too far off either. As Alex stated, turned a lot of mid to late round players into solid to rock solid starters. Gonna be interesting to see what he can do for the likes of Mason, Broderick (assuming he is ready to go) and the new Left Guard.

Lets hope this new coach gets the OL
Playing well early unlike previous OLC that took 12 games before they start

What I like about this, we may NOT need to draft any OL in first two rounds. We can focus on QB/WR/S/DB/ILB the next two years and take one OL in round 4 or 5 each year for depth and development. That would be nice to free up round 1 and 2 for other positions of even greater need.

Dunker has been an offensive tackle, but I think his NFL calling will be at guard.

He has incredible power, but his movement skills are a little pedestrian. He also doesn't have the wingspan that is coveted for the position. He is a guy that is going to dominate in a phone booth, plus he has the attitude to crush his opponent on every rep and finishes with extreme aggression. That's why I think he will end up as a guard that can slide to OT if needed.
