Assuming Ramsey and Jonnu Smith are cut they’ll have another €26m

We can probably assume that JPJ is getting a big extension and they sign a vet QB, but still, they’ll have a lot of room to work with

I can’t imagine C. Anderson moves the needle much. I’d be inclined to keep him for O Line depth.

After roster displacement that’s probably less than a million dollars though.

There is probably a case to draft a project LT later in the draft and cut Anderson loose for team development reasons though.

Queen definitely isn't worth 13 million a year, he doesn't come down hill and stop the run like those Houston ILBs does.

no but we need to cut the dead wood and he and trice have been dead wood. over 3 mil. between the two. i'd rather see driscoll brought back instead of anderson.

Agreed. Plenty of room to cut. Just a question of who replaces the departed.

You guys know we go into each season looking to put the best team to compete with on the field. I don't think where we rank on this list will change that way of thinking. Those numbers are never hard fixed. Always fluid. As for who needs to get cut, I don't know that will come down to dollars either.

We brought in Aaron Rodgers last off season and everything was quiet as usual, business as usual, out of the Steelers FO. I don't see there being much fanfare this time either. Maybe they will surprise me and do something different?

Jonnu Smith sucked soo bad this season, his best plays where from RB.
Make better moves Omar or you will be outta here soon as well.

Jonnu felt like an add on request from Arthur more than it did an Omar actual target. Pretty sure dumping Minkah and getting Ramsey was the only real goal. And to me that felt Tomlin influenced.

But to your point, Omar needs to take the reigns and build the team rather than being influenced to make roster decisions. Because in the end he will have to answer for the moves in a performance review.

And thank God Arthur Smith is gone. No more cast offs from terrible teams in Atlanta and Tennessee.
    Tomlin hired nothing but idiots.

I’m not a fan of Queen either but our scheme was terrible for linebackers. Benton offered very little protection to the ILB’s and our linebackers are built for speed not to take on blocks. With a guy like Queen he is ultra athletic but lacks instincts and awareness. With a guy like that it is point and chase. Assign him a gap and he needs to beat the ball carrier to the gap. He is at his best moving forward and not reading and reacting.

Then why did McCarthy keep three of Tomlin coaches?

Tom Arth is the only Tomlin guy I would've kept, the rest of them are bums.

The DB coach Alexander is pretty good, the ILB coach is a buddy from a previous job with McCarthy.

Then why were the DBs constantly out of position and communication was abysmal
