I like Weaver a lot. Of course, they could have just hired... never mind.

Personal preferences aside, I think it's more about who best fits the current plan for building the 2026 team.

The OL coach hire is extremely important. Huge draft investment there and it still struggles far too often.

Prefer Harris to Graham. He also has ties to McCarthy.

I guess Raheem Morris is still a HC candidate but Id be trying to land him for DC.

Give me Graham all day over Simmons. Simmons hopefully a courtesy as someone else alluded to.

Schwartz big mad in Cleveland and wants out...wouldn't be terribly mad bringing him in. Maybe he'd love the chance to beat the Browns twice a year.

Right now would be a good time to strike a deal with Jim Schwartz - if you are a fan of his defenses.
He is not happy at all with Browns management.
Myself, Schwartz has had some very good defenses.. but I'm not 100% on him.
I would not any ledge if we hired him but at the same would not throw a keg party for it.

Its possible. He's a good DC, but runs a vastly different system than what we do here. He's a 4-3 guy that runs a lot of "wide 9". He's a man to man heavy, single high safety, and really relies on a strong DL and pass rush to fuel the defense. We... aren't built to run that type of scheme. I doubt he would be a fit.

We'd essentially be forced to offload Highsmith, Herbig, and Watt because none of them are the right type of EDGE player for the system. Sawyer is the only true fit as a 4-3 edge player. Our DL would be fine with Heyward, Harmon and Benton all being solid fits as 4-3 IDL. Though, I would question whether or not we have the pieces at S to feel comfortable running single high safety a lot. We'd be forced to put Ramsey there in all likelihood for the time being.

I will say as a side note... It seems like the Raider fanbase has a pretty high opinion of Graham. They mention that his defenses are always pretty good, they play really hard all game, and well overperform the talent that they have (or lack) on that side of the ball. They also mention the atrocious offenses they've had as being another thing that has hindered his defenses dramatically.

Most places I've looked that has a lot of comments from Raiders fans, have them talking about how he is actually a quite good DC. I know a lot of their fans were happy when he was retained with Carrol's hire.

Unless Cleveland fires him, there would have to be compensation for a lateral move.

No way I'm giving Cleveland picks for Schwartz.
