My expectation is that McCarthy will also be our play caller on offense

Whatever the context was with the final season, I know for a fact that a portion of it (and the reason why he was being offered a shorter extension) was because he was 1-3 in the playoffs in Dallas.

This was definitely a selling point McCarthy highlighted in his interview to land the job.

Let’s hope he is as good at it as is being stated.

I'll be honest. I could care less what James Harrison has to say about anything Steelers related. Football players trying to stay relevant after their playing days...

This isn’t a new thread, it was the first one made up about him, you might want to post this in one of the other 50 threads.

Realizing all the angst with this hire but a question. As bad as many think it is, can we say we’ve the best coach in the division?

I mean (division wise), isn’t that a valid argument?

My guess is that they didn't wait because they like what they saw and heard from McCarthy, up to including developing younger QBs like Will Howard. Maybe they were concerned he would sign elsewhere.

Maybe just maybe change like this is exactly what the Steelers needed.

I'm in with the terrible towel. I don't think this hite is doom or gloom for the Steelers. It could be much worse.

5 years and he's retired. He won't be here 20 years. That's the point.

That's not short term, you don't know that he's retired then either.

Not apples to apples anymore since they also have a new HC. Nonetheless, you could be on to something, but don't quote me on it. LOL>

Gotta say, looking at that list is there anyone on it where you are like omg I wish we got that guy instead.

Hafley and Minter are new blood guys but neither of them were high on my list.

I honestly think Harbaugh will do well for the Giants. They have had only one winning season since 2017, and that was 9-7.
I would bet money he at least gets them back to actually making the playoffs.
