    Top Defensive Coordinator Candidates (2026 Cycle):
    • Jim Leonhard (Denver Broncos): Frequently mentioned as a top target for multiple openings, including the Cowboys and Jets.
    • Wink Martindale (Michigan): A highly experienced defensive coordinator option.
    • Patrick Graham (Ex-LV DC): A well-regarded defensive strategist.
    • Dennard Wilson (Tennessee Titans): Considered a rising star and top candidate for defensive leadership roles.
    • Chris Harris (Jets/Bears): Considered a strong candidate, with experience as a defensive backs coach and passing game coordinator.
    • Raheem Morris (Falcons/Commanders): A top candidate with extensive experience.
    • Joe Cullen (Kansas City Chiefs): Highly regarded defensive line coach.
    • Christian Parker (Philadelphia Eagles): 34-year-old passing game coordinator and DBs coach.

    I don't know a lot about them. From what I read, Leonhard is impressive.

    I don’t know much about the lesser known guys, but Raheem Morris has to be considered as a potential fit if we’re aiming for a “safe” known entity who is well-respected and can provide stability at the position. As a two-time fired HC he is not likely to get another HC gig, so he would likely not be a 1-2 years and done kind of guy.

    I haven’t dug into his coaching history, but I remember him being effective as Rams DC.

    Parker got hired to be the Cowboys DC last week, Martindale is about the same age as McCarthy :eek:.
