Is anyone other than myself concerned about the secondary again?? I guess I should throw in the DL also as no pressure leads to pitch and catch. It is inevitable that QB's in this league are going to complete a lot of passes on any team but c'mon man, back to back 20+ yard completions and that 57 yard pass to Cruz was painful especially after watching how tackles are being missed. I hate having this feeling and I know it is only preseason but certain things just seem to never improve, the DL has some massive bodies but they get pushed around and the first team defense didn't look good at all, in fact it was hard to recognize the 1st team D from the 2nd. On a positive note LSH looked pretty good and he looked hungry to win that job, I wish I could say the same about some others.

My main concern about the secondary was the play of our starting safeties, to be honest. I'm presuming that they're holding back a little - at their age, they know what preseason is all about - but I'm hoping to see more from both of them come week 1.

Yes. Concerned. Nobody looks ready to be 1st string opposite Ike. It's that simple.

The secondary is again the weak spot. Bringing Gay back to me was a mistake. Let alone having him starting.

Losing Lewis was mindless. Ike is not going to last forever, and another year older as well. Allen's knee cleanup will set him back.

    Stephens-Howling was a bright spot.

It's only the 1st preseason game, and we are missing Cortez Allen at the moment too. I get the concerns though, and if we look like we did last night in the 3rd preseason game or the 4th, than I will be really concerned. But as of now we still haven't gotten to see what Hawthorne has due to his injury, and Robert Golden should have had a pick 6 last night.

Troy, supposedly in excellent condition, looked old and out of position when Manning and Cruz torched the secondary. I hope this isn't a recurring theme this year.

Robert Golden was a bright spot. And I think as Shamarko learns the system you will see him shine a little too.

Cortez is our future star....so him not out will show.

It looked like pre season with a lot of young players trying to impress. The thing that really bothered me about that game was Antonio Brown catching that pass from Ben in the end zone and not getting both feet down for a TD. I mean come on, for a veteran he should be able to complete that, even Wheaton was able to drag his foot to stay in bounds for a tough catch........I liked the way the running game was clicking and Ben as usual looked great but I worry about his pass protection and his receiving core. All other top tear QBs have at least one great receiver but Ben just keeps on impressing with his mediocre receiving core.
