You know, I have no idea if the Scouting Staff would be under the GM or Head Coach?

Most of the heavy work has been done already. They have been preparing for the draft for the last 5 months.

Besides, Weidl is still here at the moment.

This would be a major loss if he is offered the Atlanta job. Hopefully he stays at least another year.

    Good for you Joel

You found the Steelers website and cut and pasted everyone in the football operations department

And you think the Steelers are sending all of these people

    This.

People tend to forget that, after the conclusion of a draft, work is either already underway on the next class or the Front Office is beginning the early stages of it. Don't forget that, each Pro Day for each team isn't just about prospects who have declared but those that will in due time. Tomlin made mention of such players many times that are current Steelers; Broderick Jones being the most latest example given how Georgia won the National Title the year prior to Broderick declaring. Tomlin spoke to some of both the Georgia Staff and Players themselves about a player that the team should keep an eye on. That player ended up being Broderick.

Again, just an example but teams already have done the homework in preparation for the draft. All that remains is the Senior Bowl, Shrine Bowl, Combine, Pro Day and Pre Draft Visits; the Draft being the the final stage. After that?! Back to square one in terms of scouting next season

Tomlin has always been such a part of this process it will be weird not seeing him involved anymore. Im actually amazed he walked away because this is his favorite time of year.

Me and him both love the scouting process. I can easily see why he would as well. Not just to learn about the Player but the person behind it.

Sure, Tomlin has had some misses; more in recent years from 2018-2022. Even so, more often than not, said players sure as hell played their asses off for him and few talk ill of him.
