Big difference between going for it 2 times on fourth down(Rams), and 6 times(Bears), and it's not the going for it on 4th down that matters as much as where you go for it on 4th down.
Again facts are from that game....3 times the Bears went for it on 4th down , in field goal range, and didn't get it. If just one of those 3 times they had just kicked the field goal, they wouldn't have had to go into overtime, and they would now be in the NFC championship.

You can't look only when it don't work....I mean, the bears had a TD on a fourth down in the first half,so if they kick a FG in each situation, they are down 7-6 and 10-9 at halftime, instead of 10-10

The other time he has been on fourth down,it was when the bears were down 17-10 with 3 minutes left....It was far from certain that the bears were to have the ball back....Remember in 2020 when Matt Lafleur kick the FG down by 31-23 with 3 minutes left against the bucs?...The packers did not have the ball back after that

Okay. I didn't agree with Johnson going for those due to the weather and its the playoffs. I was for kicking the FG points. Regular season, go for it, but defensive players play with more intensity in the playoffs. I am not as high on Caleb Williams as some, sure he can throw the heck out of a ball, makes mind-boggling plays, but also has a tendency to make bad plays, throw picks, and go into slumps. The Bears luck finally ran out against the Rams and that was a wasted opportunity. NFC is stacked.

My point is not about taking risks, its about our offense continuing to be an ineffective, uncreative, idiotic mess of the last several years. I don't want to watch three yard sideline passes into double coverage where the DB's can cheat because the Head Coach is fearful of the middle of the field.

If you are a defensive coach, better focus on getting the offense right, notably the QB position. Don't be a clown show.

Why should we have any trust in Art II choosing the right coach. He chose wrong GM for sure . Steeler drafts used to be the lifeline of the team.....now they are useless. The next coach is taking over the Titanic after it hit the iceberg. Aging roster full of Bloated contracts. The defense costs a fortune and they are just plain crummy against good teams. Steelers went 1-6 against playoff teams and got rolled by many of them. This is not a fender bender fix....this is a major engine overhaul needed. The QB issue hangs over the team......we have no dependable wrs and dont get me started on DK. We still have no #2 wr. This is a 3-4 year rebuild if we do it right. Instead...we will use duct tape and try to get to 8-9 wins . Makes no sense. It will be Tomlin light with Flores. Enjoy fellow steeler fans.

I hope like hell it's not Flores, he brings too much baggage with his ongoing lawsuit against the NFL. If the Steelers pick Flores to be HC, the NFL will never let him win a damn thing.

No contract. So, the reports are correct. Either we are waiting for the playoff teams to end the season, or we get the news tomorrow with McCarthy.

Somehow get Flores and McCarthy if you’re really serious about winning a Super Bowl now.

You have to think Shula is the guy they want. They could hire Flores or McCarthy today.

    They are waiting for Shula.

    Why not get them both?

Shula is a DC, that could become a head coach.
Scheelhaase is a coach that has never been an OC, and never will be one in LA.

I still believe Mike LaFleur is the better option as Head Coach if he wants to leave LA.

I still say Brian Flores is going to be the best value out there for Head Coach. Use the money you save on Flores to spend on the Coordinators.

If we hire Flores, we won’t have to worry about the NFL not allowing him to win games. He’ll figure out how to do that all on his own.

“I’m suing multiple teams because they didn’t select me as their HC despite me knowing that I’m ready.”

Yeah .. ^ THAT’s the quality that we need leading our organization. *eyeroll*

Cowboys and Packers are not better off without McCarthy
Dolphins are better off without Flores.
Rams won the SB with Raheem Morris as the DC.

Instead of settling for another second rate as our HC, how about we stop paying our antique defense ridiculous amounts of money for things that they did for us 5 to 10 years ago. Let’s save money there and buy a good HC instead.

    jeh1856 for the Win

Player salaries have nothing to do with how much a team gets to spend on coaching
