I'm not posting the Chiefs game as a positive. I'm simply posting what we were talking about.

You are making this sound like I am trying to cherry pick games. You picked one game trying to make a point about Tomlin getting blamed for losses that aren't his fault. I then pointed to the last 6 playoff games that everyone is using to judge Mike Tomlin and how that stretch has been the defining stretch that has caused people to doubt his coaching. That's why I just listed those three games. Because they are the three games Ben played in during that stretch of six consecutive playoff losses.

In those three games with Ben during that stretch, the Steelers allowed their opponents to average 45 points per game. That's the point. The defense and game planning haven't been good enough. Teams have been coming out of the gate and destroying the Steelers at the beginning of games. That screams game planning. The point totals also scream defensive problems.

Steelers averaged 33.33 points per game in those three games.

The Steelers' opponents averaged 45 points per game in those three games.

Ben threw for 985 yards, 11TD, 5INT in those games and it wasn't enough. I know he wasn't perfect. I know he also fumbled twice, but that happens when quarterbacks get hit.

So not just you, but many, blame Ben as an underachiever. I just pointed out that they averaged over 33 points a game in the three losses, and all this while the offensive side of the ball hasn't been getting nearly as much spent on resources as the defense. Then Mike Tomlin supporters don't want to acknowledge that the defensive side of the ball hasn't been getting it done. We all know that Tomlin has a lot to say on what the team does on defense. You know this.

The Steelers spent $178,904,919 this season on the defensive side of the ball.

The Steelers spent $105,053,568 on the offensive side of the ball.

I was thinking about the Brady Patriots team during that controversial interception call that ended the Bills season on Saturday. You can bet your last dollar that if the WR on that play was Julian Edleman or Wes Welker it would have been ruled a catch and down by contact.
