Unfortunately when I think of Tomlin in 5 yrs
My only memory will be a bad one
    A decade of playoff futility

Tomlin is a good man and inspires and his personality reflected class and dignity.

However, his coaching results were average and the Steelers wasted a lot of time being loyal to him from a football standpoint.

    Nothing against the man personally
He seems to be well respected and liked by many
    Wish him the best
But like I said in my 60yrs of Steelers football, never seen a drought this long
    Unforgettable in my mind

so flores the only one being requested for a second round interview?

    also side note.....
for tomlin he got the second round interview, but so did Russ Grimm
for Cowher he got the second round interview, but so did Wannstedt

I do like Flores more. I am on the fence with Shula or Flores. but I like Flores for his blitzing, amoeba defense. and I also like what he did for the dolphins with rotating Tua and fitzpatrick. it was gutsy, but worked. just not good enough.

Also I think the steelers pull the trigger on flores if he nails the interview. even if they want Flores for a second interview, due to that will push into start of February or later. which means Art would be pushing it for the combine. and could you imagine if we waited, and then Shula went somewhere else?

ok grasshopper let me educate you. Shula is not a joke like you want him to be. can you tell me which HC has more playoff wins as a DC+? hint, Flores had three when he was pushed into the role in 2018. while Shula has back to back success in the playoffs with last year a win and this year 2 so far.
now tell me how the Vikings did against the rams in their meeting last year and this year?

I like Flores more, but Shula is not a joke.

I am going to be way less forgiving and quicker to turn on a defensive head coach if the Steelers offense looks ANYTHING like the Mike Tomlin offense post Big Ben.

Look at Ryans today, great defensive coach, horrible offensive management and bad decision making. That punt was gutless. Defensive head coaches are at a disadvantage compared to their offensive counterparts in the modern NFL.

The fastest way to lose this fanbase is to go back to the 'live in our fears' of the middle of the field offense.

Flores or Shula....step your game up on running a modern offense, because you are going to have a young QB whose development will make or break you.

Will you quit the forum like Notre Dame did when they didn’t get what they wanted this year? Just curious.

They weren’t going to convert a 4th and 18 with that weather. He punted to let the only thing that played well maybe make a play. Ryan was not the issue in the game. His players let him down not executing the fundamentals. Now, if this was the 10th time this happened in consecutive seasons, then you can say he’s the issue. But he’s still fresh in this and needs more time to get figured out.

Hard disagree about Ryans. He didn't adjust anything on offense seeing his QB was crapping his pants in the second quarter and completely ineffective.

The Texans should have literally stopped passing and run the ball. A punt and field position is better than a Pick 6, Maye was coughing the ball up enough it could have given them a FG.

Ryans just kept letting his QB self-destruct. I am not saying he is a horrible coach, but clearly he is on the lower end of the playoff coaches.
