He played everywhere. If he is just a Safety, yes I think he could play 4 more years well.
Plus 17 million would put him in 8th place in highest safety pay.

I could live with taking him with a third

I’m a Penn State fan but not an Allar fan

He has all of the physical tools but mentally he chokes in big games

Maybe he can grow out of that but I have doubts

Also depends on how he heals

I am also a Penn State fan.

I know Allar has been disappointing, but I am skeptical of Penn State coaching quarterbacks. It has been a weakness of the program forever.

It just feels like Allar is so close, but doesn't always seem to understand what he is looking at. I know that it is possible he just isn't quick enough or can't read defenses and process fast enough. I just get the feeling that he would have a chance to improve with some quality NFL coaching in the right offensive system.

The other thing is that the Lions are never able to recruit elite receivers. Many times there is nobody open and that part of the program needs to get better under Matt Campbell.

Will Cam retire/go to another team? No
Will TJ ask out to play for a contender? Is it even possible for us to move him based on his contract? No

Can Ramsey be cut to save money? I think he stays

Will we resign Seamulo? No draft pick

Will we get a chance to resign Gainwell? Hope so!

Will we cut/trade Pat F? NO

I am certainly hoping we will get rid of J Smith. Yes

Will WR be our first rd pick? Maybe

Will we go into next season with Rudolph and Howard as QB? Plus 1 other

Will we pick up Broderick 5th year option?NO

Will Cam retire/go to another team? I think Cam comes back. I think he (1) wants to be a one helmet guy and (2) wants to get to 100 sacks. Rooney said he doesn't want to tank. I think that means he won't want to trade the bigger names on the team for draft capital. Cam and TJ are the faces of the franchise.

Will TJ ask out to play for a contender? Is it even possible for us to move him based on his contract? Same as above. I also think TJ comes back. Rooney said they don't want to tank. Won't change face of the franchise. But if it happens, has to be post-Jun1 ($10MM dead instead of $30MM dead)

Can Ramsey be cut to save money? Yes. No dead money. ~ $20MM savings. Get younger.

Will we resign Seamulo? I don't think so. Still were OK when he was out. Guards are expensive. Use 3rd rounders to try to land an OG.

Will we get a chance to resign Gainwell? I'd rather try to get a better RB1 and keep Warren (who's on contract) as the 40 in a 60/40 split. But it's tough to just let the team MVP walk. I think they try. RBs tend to be inexpensive.

Will we cut/trade Pat F? No. Get rid of Smith. Still focus on 2 TE sets. Washington still the TE1. But PF gets lots of snaps (more than this year). But if he has trade value, sure. Not sure if we need another 3rd or a day 3 pick though. Worth more to the team than the trade value I think.

I am certainly hoping we will get rid of J Smith. $3.8MM dead, but $7MM in savings. We were worse at running and passing with him on the field vs. him on the bench (by yards per play). Although it is possible he'd be better with a different OC / QB (Rodgers didn't seem to click with him), I'd much much rather roll with Washington and PF.

Will WR be our first rd pick? It's a good bet. Maybe S too if we let Ramsey walk. The thing I worry about is that Rooney will want a QB when the draft is in Pittsburgh no matter what.

Will we go into next season with Rudolph and Howard as QB? I'd imagine that we get someone else too. Have someone compete with Rudolph for the QB1 job. With the idea of Howard as backup since he didn't even play in the preseason.

Will we pick up Broderick 5th year option? Hell no! Options for OL are expensive. We haven't picked up an option for anyone that's only in the "playing time" category (2nd last tier). He started to look better before he got hurt. But not nearly enough to get the option. I wouldn't be opposed to looking at an extension, but not the option.

    ----

Will steeler fans be upset when the Steelers follow the Cowher / Tomlin blueprint? Some will complain very loudly no matter what they do.

Would you be happy if the Steelers bring in a Kirk Cousins type to play QB? Depends on the price tag. If it's cheap like Wilson / Fields / Rodgers, then I'm OK with it. If it's a big contract for an over the hill QB who isn't going to get us more than another WC loss, I don't want it.

Maybe depends on what the draft looks like.

And he might actually be good at S if he gets an offseason to learn the position instead of just stepping back there mid-season.

I think Ramsey is kind of a coin flip.

I'd like to see Howard have a chance but we go into season with Howard/Mason it's going to be rough. I do believe the Steelers will bring in an established QB.

It’s a product of two questions IMO:
    1. How confident are the leaders of the organization that he can fully adapt his game to play safety?
    2. Is his athleticism at a level where he can be expected to be very effective physically as a safety beyond 2026?

If he’s retained with the intent of moving him back to outside corner, then that’s silly IMO. Hopefully that’s not the plan.
