He's really impressing, I love that Wilson has this to say about him:

“He knows 100 percent who to block, and he is executing at a very high level,” Wilson said.
Wilson has coached running backs for about 20 years and never has seen somebody so NFL-ready so soon out of college.
“He is doing exactly what we saw on film, and a lot of times that is not the case (with rookies),” Wilson said. “He is ahead of the curve in terms of what we are asking him to do.”

Are Bell and Jarvis Jones the two most NFL ready draft picks the Steelers have had in the last decade? Only time will truly tell but if the early returns are any indication, they very well may be.

We may very well need both to be, Bell definitely will need to be and if Worilds doesn't pan out, Jarvis will have to live up to the hype. I think Jarvis is the real deal though and will over take Worilds soon. I originally thought it would be half a season or longer but now I think it will be sooner, not because Worilds will fail but because I think Jarvis is going to be a beast.

Bell was my favorite RB in this draft. I thought he was probably the only 1st rd talent above Lacy and Ball. Problem is I didn't want a RB so early as I also feel you can get quality RB later in the draft. I wanted to spend the top 3-4 picks on other positions I felt were bigger needs.

That being said I'm really glad we spent the rd 2 pick on Bell. While it isn't hard to find quality backs later it is hard to find Special Backs later. If you want that special franchise back you must draft one early or get lucky, luck is good but you can't depend on it. I believe Bell will be the next Great Steeler Running Back.

I liked bell and knew he was a quality guy from living in big 10 country.

ball had been overused at wisc.. to many carries, and that would have happened to bell as well if they didn't have a good back already for bells first couple of years at mich st..

lacy I was never sold on. I liked zac Stacey as a 6th rounder and thought the steelers would go with a guy like gillisee with more moves, in the early to mid rds., if we were keeping all our other backs and looking for a vet at the time.

I was tickled to death it was bell. 2nd round wasn't to early for him by the NFL scouts. just the draftnick boards. he may also be able to teach our other guys some tricks. LSH will help redman too in this ZBS.

as for jones, I've read some mixed revues on him. good and athletic as they said, but struggled as DLB put more of the defense into the equation.

I take it to read he was ahead of the game knowing the 3-4 and he's talented at what Georgia had him doing, but that only went so far here. now the complicated parts that he's never learned at Georgia are being installed.

he will see spot duty as he learns it. worilds and carter should be ahead of him in that aspect. DLB won't leave his defense hung out to dry just to get him on the field as a starter.
