Khan is making some good DRAFT choices ---I have no complaints except signing old people to play a young man's game..

His offense supported two receivers in Tennessee just fine in 2020, and that was a run-heavy version of his offense with Henry carrying the load. The current offense would have more room to get the receivers targets because they don't have a true lead back. If Smith wouldn't be capable of adjusting to having a pair of stud receivers, he should be fired.

Titans Oline were mostly 8-10 yr vets in 2020

Henry being the key difference there. 2,000 yard rusher, #2 ground game in the league. I like Warren but hes no where near Henrys level.

Another big difference is that Titans team had a heavy dose of intermediate passes to the MOF, a staple of Smiths offense and something Tomlin clearly doesnt employ.

Tannenhill > then old Rodgers. He played at a very high level that year.

Omar has been pretty mediocre and at times downright terrible.

This would the offseason to prove the critics wrong. I can certainly applaud him if he does just that.
He has a long list of to-do's. I don't envy that job.

No complaints about WR #2 for the past 2 years???

And the fact that our last 2 years worth of 3rd round picks are inactive on game day?

I missed this at the time. My point was always that they would have to adapt the offense. Just because Tomlin doesn't do it doesn't mean he is right to keep them from doing it.

What would be really refreshing is for Tomlin to let his coordinator...well, coordinate.

I think Khan has been say B- on draft picks
    A- on trades
    C+ on cap management

BUT, he also got grade C coaching of the players. That is not his doing.

Personally, I would have fired him 5 minutes after Tomlin resigned.
    Reasons?
    - If he let Mike Tomlin make bad decisions for getting older players, that's reason alone.
    - If He allowed that coaching staff to remain stagnant as it has, without establishing that being a problem, fired.
    - His trades. A good one, a poor one... so-so.
    - Free Agency - He's known around the league as a cheapskate. If he was limiting Tomlin to those old useless solutions = fired.
    - Cap - He's obviously terrible at it. If he cannot come to the table and make such an offering such as (maybe 2 years ago) Cam Heyward wants this huge contract he's past 30, we can get a draft pick or two for him and get younger 1st contract guys looking to make a name. = Fired.

A GM's job is not to just do what he's told, he manages a team.
Some are good, some are bad. I rate him mediocre.
It scares the hell out of me that he is in on the coach search.

I’ve stated my preference for moving to Weidl as the sole GM but it’s fair to Khan to see if things look different with Tomlin out of the picture. See if there is noticeable difference in the types of players they target in the draft and free agency. I definitely think we will see that with FA moves, the draft is more of a collaboration that includes many people. I think we already started seeing a shift in that anyway. Before Khan, players targeted were very athletic centric, guys with high SPARQ scores. I think thats a big reason the last two drafts have gone well, went back to looking for football players, not athletic warriors.
