Here are eight names of possible HC candidates. I did not include anyone with previous head coaching experience. Pick who you would like it to be.

I am going with Shula because of the Steelers success with defensive minded coaches. I hope he can bring the Rams offensive philosophy with him.

I’ll play, but just like the rest of us I’ll be going mainly by what media people report and won’t have the opportunity to actually interview the candidates or talk confidentially with other coaches and players who have been teammates (or opponents of the candidates). Wouldn’t it be fun to do that? Maybe we can petition the Steelers to do a fan contest, with the winner being able to join the interviews?

Klint Kubiak coming from Shanahan system, with proven top notch offensive success with subpar quarterbacks in two different organization, and with Spencer Rattler. Also, in last three years he worked alongside good defensive coordinators in Steve Wilks, Dennis Allen, Mike McDonald. Also being a Kubiak, he is connected so assembling good staff should not be a problem. He is also a believer in run game which is the Steelers identity.

Klint would be my very first choice. Refer to @TGH@TGH for further explanation. Klint would be the ideal.

Joe Brady would be the second though. He has a good resume built up with his time in Buffalo. Only thing that would give me pause about him is that Josh Allen was a major part of that success. Josh Allen is a one of one.

His overall talents cannot be replicated. Brian Daboll found that out himself.

You forgot to include Danny Smith in your list.

In all seriousness, it might be fun to speculate on choices outside conventional thinking that might work.

From the past, I was thinking about Marv Levy.
Was a college coach, special teams in the NFL, then a HC in the CFL. Seems like an odd resume to then be made an NFL HC, first in KC then Buffalo. But he definitely instilled a Noll-like culture in a team like the Bills, who had lost their way.

I like the offensive coaching history of Mike LaFleur. So that was my vote.

I still like Kevin Stefanski as the best available option right now.

I will also be curious to see if Byron Leftwich gets any OC interviews this offseason.

I voted Klint Kubiak, who is the leading candidate in the poll so far, but I almost picked Jesse Minter.

A more dark-horse candidate not listed is Anthony Campineli, current Jacksonville DC. I like him too.

I want someone from the Shanahan or McVey line. I voted Scheelhaase, but I would love to have Kubiak.

Scheelhaase is known to have a dynamic personality and some people even mention that he has a “Tomlin” type aura with the McVey lineage. It would be a big leap (and he may or may not be ready), but a guy like that is a “swing for the fences” type of move.

Kubiak is super cool and collected. He would be great to bring in a QB with, but would also have a good system for an average enough QB to have success with. He’s another guy I’d be really into taking a shot on.

Obviously you intentionally left off the re-treads, but if I were to go for one of those it would have to be either Stefanski or Flores. I’d prefer Stefanski. Just me. Though, I’d prefer either of the two young bucks before a retread anyways.

Kubiak will love out TE and RB room. He will love our athletic Oline. He will love our bench QBs, and our defense,. It's a match made in heaven.

Many good choices listed but I went with Davis Webb from the Broncos. He's done a great job with Bo Nix and played backup QB in the league for 7 years. I like gym rats like Webb who made the NFL on guile and grit and soaked in a lot of knowledge on the sidelines as a backup.
