Yes. If you're starting over then start over completely. Kubiak with a young QB. And let K. hire a whole new staff.

That is probably the way that every other team views the rule. These are the family that the rule is named after.

I feel like Art would be terrified how the talking heads would butcher him if he was "perceived" as a hypocrite. That's if he even had an inkling to hire a non-minority coach. Which I'm not sure that he would.

I like him but I dont want to go the college route. I wouldnt hate it but it’s high risk. I dont think he’ll be on the Steelers radar.

Well, I don't know you so I'm not going to speculate on your intelligence but I would have to think you're smart enough to understand that there is enough blame to go around in this organization. There were things with this team that were failures on all levels. Whether it be player acquisition, scouting, development, coaching, all the way down to play on the field. No one should get a pass. Thinking that coaching didn't have anything to do with this teams failures seems pretty shortsighted. No?

Steelers invested alot in the O line. Maybe there are some coaching issues there. Our RT was whiffing yesterday, does he suck that badly or is his technique wrong? I agree with WR, GM “dropped” the ball on that one.

but also look at the lack of use of PF.

First i was so hyped and celebrated this news. Years overdue.
im hyped about all the new names, but then comes Art II in my mind and the fact, that Tomlin stepped down. He wasnt fired. Art II would have never fired Tomlin. And so he will not fire anyone.

And know im really scared. Tomorrow we will read about the evaluation from Arthur Smith to Head Coach, Pat Meyer for new OC and some continuity with Teryl Austin as DC to preserve the heritage of the historical Defense from Mike.

It’s not so much WR I worry about. There will be some in the draft and free agency. It’s the QB position the OC should worry about

Knowing the Steelers, they'll probably just promote Arthur Smith. I hope not.

Exactly. We need an offensive minded head coach that is creative...because any offensive coordinator worth anything always gets poached for a head coaching position. That is a must given we are eventually going to be starting a rookie QB.

We could be setup for something like that.

This coaching change should've happened 8 years ago. We’d be better off today i think.

I'll admit, I'm not a knowledgeable coach search guy , and I may be a fool on this subject but I've got to believe ownership was prepared for this. I think they know a few of their top choices already. Pending interviews, I believe they have a 1 2 3 in their mind. I suspect at least one will be coaching this weekend. If I remember correctly, the last 2 coaches were not on top of a lot of experts lists. Somebody more knowledgeable can correct me on this.
Kubiak is one of my favorites, but I would not be shocked if an under the radar kind of guy got hired. The Notre Dame coach must be on the list, but he is not a sleeper.

2 coaches who were born and raised in Pittsburgh are possibilities, Mike McCarthy and Curt Cignetti. Not my choices but they do have the Pittsburgh connection.

Maybe we should look for one from Tomlin's coaching tree.

Not the Steelers MO to hire a 'name' as HC. If they follow their normal path it will be someone in the depths of ranks on a team.

I'm like others, hopefully an offensive minded Xs & Os kinda guy. I had a list earlier in the season on another board and will have to dig to find it again.

Did I say it didn’t? I did not. However, the things yall love to cry about are largely based on your imaginations. You don’t know what play was called or what change was made by the qb. However you sure as hell will blame the OC and head coach for a “bad call”. Someone blows a block and it’s the OC/coaches fault despite the fact the players on the field didn’t do their job.
